Hello,

Last night the power went out during a thunderstorm and when the power came back on the the pump would not start. We have a Pentair superflo high performance pump we just bought it 11 months ago. The breakers were not tripped inside or outside the house. We checked power to to the breakers and they are fine. We checked the clocking programming and our settings are still there. We are not sure what to do next but really hope that we do not have to buy another pump. Our last pump lasted 6 six years surely our pump has not gone bad again. Anyone have any advise????? Please???

Is there any hum from the motor at all when you turn it on? If not, you need to check to see if you have power to the back of the motor.

If it hums, there is a starting capacitor under the bump on top of the motor that has probably failed. They are common failure items and easy to replace.

No humming it will not turn on at all. My husband did take the panel off the back of the motor and checked for power and there was nothing and not sure what to do any suggestions would be appreciated.

Start at the pump and follow the wires back to the timer. and check in and out power there. It sounds like a timer issue, since you need power going into the timer to have a display, and if power was going out there would be power at the motor.
