-51 degree wind chill Hot Tub Phenomena

1. Your hair forms an ice helmet in about 10 seconds.
2. The steam immediately turns to shards of ice and blows in to your face... causing odd stinging sensation.
3. the water in the tubes of the jets is so cold it drops the hot tub 2 degrees when you turn them on.
4. your eyelids freeze shut in about 15 seconds when you close your eyes.
5. Every surface reacts as if it was the lamp post in A Christmas Story.

As somebody who spends their day at a full time job working outdoors I’ll add that this weather also causes all filters on your words to be removed and honest feelings to flow from your mouth. ?

Ahhh its all good... Getting in is a little chilly, but once you are in, its awesome. You have to go under water a bit more often to melt your ice helmet, but other than that it feels amazing

If you have to suffer those temps, at least you can minimize the pain!

I know that feeling. Helps keep my Scotch cold! We now carry a cooler down with us and a couple hot wheat bags and put our towels and robes in there. When you get out of the tub you have nice warm towels and robes!!

Im lucky that my door is 4 steps from my hot tub but dang good idea.
