30+ years out of usage. Cost to get it going

Hello,
I'm looking at a property that has an inground pool that hasn't been serviced or used in 30+ years. I have no idea about pools, but I'd assume at this point everything is inoperable. Worst case scenario, how much would it cost to get it up and running, to include busted pipes, new pump, liner, etc. ++
Thank you

Hi and welcome to TFP. Some questions first.

Is this a plater or liner pool? Is it holding water at the moment?

Does that area get hard freezes often? If so then the pipes could be a worry.

The answers to these questions will help us know what needs to be done to get the pool up and running.

Your worst case scenario is what a new pool would cost. Probably at least $50k

Welcome to TFP.

That house does not have a pool. It has a hole in the ground hazard that the next owner needs to deal with.

The next owner can either fill in the hole or construct a modern pool in the hole.

Do you want a pool?

Note that many pool builders are not interested in dealing with the demolition work of an existing pool. It is much easier to dig a hole for a new pool then do demolition work.

Talk to pool builders in the area if you are serious about the property and wanting a pool.
