18" pool brush needed - white plastic bristles falling out

I have found the BJs / Costco brushes and nets to be much better quality than the ones sold at the box stores.

The pool stores will also usually have both the cheapo and a better one.

Thanks for the replies. I ordered the Whale although I was hesitant about the 'spoiler' on it. Was trying to think if the spoiler would get in the way somehow. I do like the angled brush on the sides with this one as well with another one linked here. It's like the one I have. I have left ours in the sunlight. Eventually we will have a pool house but not there yet.

You’ll love the whale! I can brush the walls of my 10’ deep end with one hand. I hang my brush and net on hooks attached to the fence. The spoiler flips over so that it hangs flush - doesn’t get in the way at all.

Keep the brush out of the sun when not in use. UV breaks down the polyester bristles.

While we wait for Jark, I used over the door wreath hooks. They come in a bazillion finishes and sizes and will be $1 each on clearance after Christmas. The flat ones work well on chain link and the wire like ones fit between the pickets on stockade fence.

Run your pump 24/7 and your leaf net can sit in the garage. On hooks
Not where we live. Pump does run 24/7 but we are in the middle of the woods and if there is any wind at all, there will be debris in the pool. We also don't have a working robot at the moment, so I have to manually vacuum.

On the hooks. I'd want something that can connect to an aluminum fence. I haven't tried to look but wondered if someone made something specificallty for that type of fence.

Got the whale and still don't know how I fell about the spoiler. It definitely makes it stay in contact with the walls but in the spa, the spoiler does hit some in close quarters. I could always remove the spoiler if I decide to.

As for brushing, it's much harder to push as the bristles themselves cling more to the surface. That's probably a good thing for cleaning but much more effort required. I suspect the brush that I was given with the pool is probably the cheapest one that can be bought which may also be the reason it was falling apart after just a few months of use.

So, it you want something to stay tight to the walls, this one is for you. If you want something that isn't hard to push, I'd find something else but I can only compare it to the one I had. As for the spoiler, still undecided for my purposes.

Yes, I agree and was somewhat on the fence when I first tried it. But once I used it on the walls, which were the hardest part of the pool to brush for me, I fell in love with it. I can brush the walls thoroughly with one hand! I also realized that the tighter contact with the floor means the brush is probably doing a better job than my old brush ever did. Now, I’m used to the extra friction/resistance and it’s just normal to me.

+1 @klanel I bought mine because who doesn't want something to be easier ? It required alot more effort to push and I didn't like it. I guess my long arms being tall gave me plenty of leverage for brushing the walls with the regular brush. So I took the whale tail off and I still liked my original brush better.

But I've seen most people love it. This is neither the first or last time that I'm the weirdo.
