I recently replaced a 12x24 Intex with a 15x30 buttress oval. Both were complete DIY projects. I rented a skid-steer for grading and then made a water level to get the pavers and channels level. I'm a bit disappointed in my liner install, but I will live with it. This project was a lot bigger than I anticipated. My 53 year old body doesn't always do what my 20 year old mind thinks it can. Georgia clay is a tuff dig with a shovel and pick-axe. I repositioned my new pool to get more hours of direct sun and added a bit more deck. I did use the foam board on top of sand as a base because it worked so well with the Intex pool.

Jodi- I'd say you did a pretty darn good job for such a massive undertaking! Liners can sometimes be tweaked a bit, I've read.
I like the way your building that deck too.

Glad to have another Georgian in the house! Welcome to Trouble Free Pools.... we're here to help you show off your work and teach folks how to care for their pool and water in the most economical way.

Owner testing is the backbone of how we care for our water, which in turn cares best for the equipment.

Holler if you need any questions answered.
