Dramatic change in P.H levels

Question!
I have multiple pools and like over night my ph level rose high .. 8.0 + but chlorine stayed right at 2.8 to 3.0 ...
What would be possible causes? ...

Hello From Northern California!

Hello All,
My name is Greg and I live in Northern Cal.
I own multiple pools. 6 in all ..
They range from a wade pool up to a mega 21 × 27 × 16 deep ...
Have lately having problems with chemicals and thought someone here might be able to educate me ...
All my pools like over night have spiked the ph.
Chlorine is good 2.4 to 3.0 ppm ..
And ph has been 7.2 to 7.6 .
Now within the last week the chlorine has stayed at 2.8 to 3.0 but ph has rose to over 8.0 + in all my pools ...
Just dont understand ....
I know what the causes are but none of that is a play here
Alkalinity 90 ppm to 100 ..
Temp is the same in all.
So what else would cause this like over night ...
Any suggestions ....or any advice?

What does your TA usually run? I find that when my TA gets above 60-70, my PH starts drifting up? Also do you have any fountains or waterfalls? Running them a lot can raise your PH as well.

Did you use the same test kit to measure them all and how old is it?
