    Drilling holes in ladder

Has anyone drilled some larger holes in their ladder to put bleach into? My ladder always seems to have gross green water in it when I take it every month to clean and brush. It's pretty much like this ladder, your typical A-Frame. It has some tiny holes on the steps to hold water so the...

    AGP Mesh Winter Cover

I use a mesh cover like that. Love it. Let me give you a little trick. Put in some tubes or floats or something to elevate the cover above the water. So then the leaves and debris will be on a dry cover and just blow off themselves. you don't want the cover touching the water or you'll get...

Has this happened to anyone else. The styrofoam on the back of the weir door has green in it..... Like small patches throughout. Any idea the easiest way to get that off? Also the crevices of my skimmer where the water gets sucked in has tiny green in the corners. My test results are...

Solar panel location is 20 feet away

Would I notice a difference with a 2' x 10' Panel? That's 20 sq ft. My pool is only about 5000 gallons with it being 15' round. Would my pool surface area be 225 (15x15) or I saw on a website a 15' round pool is 177 sq ft??

Solar panel location is 20 feet away

Ok thanks about the 2nd one. The run isn't straight so pvc isn't an option. I guess I could buy hoses that are like 20 feet. A hardware store near my will cut to size.

Solar panel location is 20 feet away

Let me preface this by saying I am not handy at all. I want to buy a solar panel for my 15 foot above ground pool. The pump and filter is in a shaded part of my backyard and the closest place to put my solar panels is the other side of the yard about 20 feet away. How would I connect that to...

My son fell off our pool ladder onto concrete - ideas on mats etc?

Thanks but that's not practical for us. The mulch will get spread and kicked and moved and not stay in one area. Eventually it will get into the pool. And the kids play on the concrete in the fall & spring when the pool isn't used. Looking for something easily removable

My son fell off our pool ladder onto concrete - ideas on mats etc?

My son was climbing down the ladder and fell on the concrete. He has some bruising and says his ribs hurt but I think he's overall ok. This got me thinking what can I put on the concrete so if a child fell they wouldn't break a bone. It's your standard A Frame ladder that is attached to the...

    Getting rid of birds

The fishing line didn't work. The little sparrows just kind of swooped in under the line and are perched on my top rail and solar cover. So frustrating.

    Getting rid of birds

I have a lot of small sparrows that like to sit on my top rail or solar cover and sip water. Then of course they make tiny poops all over. I tried plastic owls and shiny irritant tape that flaps in the wind. I read hanging fishing line from my roof to fence or telephone pole would work...

How warm in order to install a new liner?

I'm having my 15 foot above ground pool installed by a company on April 10th here in Long Island, NY. After reading this thread I'm wondering if I should push it back. Looking back at weather data for my area average high and lows for April 10 are about 55 high and 38 low. This could be a...

Micro Mesh cover not draining (with pics)

This is my first time using a micro mesh cover for my AGP. I was under the impression the water was supposed to drain but as you can see below its just puddling when I spray the hose. The water level is about 6 inches below the cover. Am I doing something wrong? It's pulled pretty tight as...

    Plug in timer question

I bought a plug in timer for my Intex Cartridge Filter & Pump. This pump has the 'reset' and 'test' buttons on the actual plug that gets plugged into the timer. I started the pump manually for 5 hours and it shut off correctly, but then the next day when its supposed to turn on it doesn't...

    AGP Timer

Other threads on here have people saying this is good. I am going to be buying this soon. You basically plug the pump into this (which will be mounted on a post) and plug this into the 'in-use' gfci waterproof outlet with bubble cover. The timer has the plug on the bottom so the thinking...
