Featured Spa not maintaining set tempurature

2022, You should not have to push any buttons on the heater.. Just leave it in the Pool mode if that works. As a test, with the EasyTouch in the pool mode, see how the heater responds to adjusting the set point up and down and the red flame.. Then do the same with the EasyTouch in the Spa...

Featured Spa not maintaining set tempurature

2022, I went out to my system and used ScreenLogic to increase or decrease the set point.. Heater enable is on.. Every time I move the set point slightly above the actual water temp, the red flame comes on.. Every time move the set point slightly below the water temp, the red flame goes...

Featured Spa not maintaining set tempurature

2022, It does not look like your SWCG transformer is wired to the pump/filter relay as "Required"... If your cell has any lights on, when the system is the Service mode or when it is not in the Pool or Spa modes, the cell could explode. This problem has nothing to do with the heater issue...

Featured Spa not maintaining set tempurature

2022, From the EasyTouch's point of view, it just tells the heater to heat, or it does not.. It does not care if the system is in the pool mode or the spa made, the same exact circuit is used for both. The heater should be set to full hot... The EasyTouch monitors the water temp sensor...

Featured Spa not maintaining set tempurature

2022, How is the heater being controlled by the EasyTouch? By a simple two wire cable to the heater's fireman's switch, or by an RS-485 com cable? Thanks, Jim R.

Both return and suction side leak

TTC, In my opinion, the sad original repair is why you are having to do it again... I would not use flex.. ever!!! I'd use the off-set fix like in your pic... I doubt that it will make much difference if you use 90's or 45's.. Thanks, Jim R.

    Easytouuch 8 Heater Overshoot

WF, In theory, when the EasyTouch is controlling the heater, the heater should be set to full hot (104). This is how it works.. The heater is controled by two wires between the heater and the EasyTouch. The heater operates off of 24 VAC. This AC is sent to the EasyTouch on one wire which...

    Sheer descents turning off

Jen, I guess my question should have been... Does the pump run ok at 3450, when in the pool mode.. I'm trying to determine if the pump shuts off for some reason just because it is running at 3450, or is the problem that when you turn on the sheers, the pump increases speed to 3450? In the...

Pool & Spa Heat Command - Getting IntelliFlo to increase RPM when heater kicks on?

P, The basic way this works is... The EasyTouch controls the heater.. It turns the heater on anytime the water temp falls below the set point. When this happens, a small relay closes and allow 24 VAC to go to the heater firing it up.. The relay stays closed until the water temp gets above...

    Sheer descents turning off

Jen, Well, that of course will not be a filter issue.. Does the pump give you any kind of failure code or alarm?? I assume that you are using your automation to run the pump... Does it shut off if the sheers are not on? I doubt it is the automation, but as a test, you can put...

    J20 Com

77, Hardwiring your ScreenLogic is just asking for trouble.. All it takes is a nearby lightning strike and your system will be toast and everything connected to the Protocol adapter.. Ask me how I know that... :( I should have said to turn off the power to the EasyTouch when you removed or...

    J20 Com

77, With the power off, remove the plug from J20 on the main card.. Then, use a voltmeter and see if you get about 15 volts DC. (Black to Red)... If you get 15 volts with the plug removed, then that means something is loading down the voltage. Thanks, Jim R.

Sheer Water Features, not working like they should.

TR, They are all about the same. Thanks, Jim R.

Sheer Water Features, not working like they should.

TR, If they will be inside the wall, where you have to break it open to adjust them, then I'd use the ball valves... My thought is to restrict the flow of the two lower sheers and see how that works. If you are still having issues, then I would make all three sheers the same height. Your...

Sheer Water Features, not working like they should.

TR, We do not normally recommend ball valves at all, because after a couple of years they seize up and can no longer be turned. That said, 20 billion pool builders install them every day... The only good news is that once set, so that your sheers match, you really should not need...

Sheer Water Features, not working like they should.

TR, I am not a waterflow expert, but I would have to assume the pipe from your equipment pad should have been much larger than 1.5"... At this point, I think your only option is the add the additional valves, or maybe abandon, or lower, the middle sheer.. I have a waterfall wall that I...

Sheer Water Features, not working like they should.

TR, Water will take the easiest path back to the pool. It is easier to go through the lower sheers. You should have individual valves on each sheer so that you can adjust their outputs to match.. So, basically reducing the water going to the lower sheers and increasing the water going to...

2421, With only 3' of decking, I'd be more worried about kids getting their feet dirty and then sliding into the pool.. Thanks, Jim R.

Will a robotic cleaner go over dividing wall from pool to spa?

Will, I assume you do not have a heater... The amount of flow depends on the size of your pump and the size of your filter.. The larger your pump and filter, the more flow you get at lower RPMs... What specific pump do you have and what size is your filter? In my case 1200 RPM is plenty of...

Will a robotic cleaner go over dividing wall from pool to spa?

Will, My pump run 24/7, mostly at 1200 RPM.. Doing this cost me less than $20 bucks a month and my pump is over 10 years old. Newer IntelliFlo pumps are even more energy efficient.. I like making a little chlorine all the time, and I like skimming all the time. I also like the look of my...

Will a robotic cleaner go over dividing wall from pool to spa?

Will, How many skimmers do you have? Do they have operating weir doors? How many hours a day does your pump run? Your water seems awful 'still', but it could just be the pic. Thanks, Jim R.
  25. Jimrahbe

Will a robotic cleaner go over dividing wall from pool to spa?

Will, Just so that we are on the same page... A robot will only pick up the leaves that sink to the bottom of your pool. 90% of the leaves should go into your skimmers, where they will clog that basket.. Dolphins do have a bigger basket, but that does not really mean they will...

Will a robotic cleaner go over dividing wall from pool to spa?

William, Robots are not really built to clean a spa, unless it is a swimming pool sized spa... Even if you manually put the robot in the spa, I doubt it would do much cleaning. That said, the robot should not be able to climb the wall and then fall into the spa. Just to be...

Wiring - changing from Intermatic T100 to Suraielec Smart WIFI Timer

Tim, I am not sure what buying another timer mechanical is going to do.. You need to do two things. I. Provide 240 VAC to your transformer.. and to just the power pins on your new digital timer. This would stay on all the time.. 2. Wire the low voltage 24 VAC to a relay in...

Wiring - changing from Intermatic T100 to Suraielec Smart WIFI Timer

Tim, The actuator that you show in the pic is normally controlled with 24 Volts AC.. Not 120 or 240 Volts AC. Do you have the step-down transformer that you see in the pic below??? I would think if you applied 240 VAC to the actuator motors, you would see a lot of smoke. Here is a typical...

Wiring - changing from Intermatic T100 to Suraielec Smart WIFI Timer

Tim, I would like to help, but have a couple of issues/questions.. I looked up a JVA2444 and 2440 and they appear to be 24 VAC units... I looked up the T100 and it appears to be a 120 volt clock.. I looked at your old wiring and I can't tell where the wires go as they just disappear into a...

Heater shutting down when switched to Spa mode

Greg, Wow.. I totally missed that... :( Like Marty, I doubt a 1000 RPM is anywhere close to what you need to turn the heater on.. You kind of have your speeds backwards.. Most people run slow in the Pool mode, and much faster in the Spa mode. Who set those speeds up??? Thanks, Jim R.
