    IceShadow - SWCG Thread

I think you are really close. I see you mention using neutral. Is either your pump or SWG using 120V? My SWG can be jumpered to use either. In the schematic shown, 240v is used by all and no neutrals are used.

    IceShadow - SWCG Thread

You may want others to chime in since I haven't done this (I have an external timer). With a quick look around, I found this recent comment that looks pretty helpful. current sensing relay help My brief explanation.... the pump, relay, and SWG all need power. They share the same L1 and L2...

    IceShadow - SWCG Thread

When installing SWG with VSP /w internal timers, you can use current sensing relays to measure if the pump is running and only power the SWG while it is on. It's less useful if pump is scheduled for 24/7 runtime, but gives better protection than just relying on the flow switch. Search "SWG...

    Circupool SI-45 cell replacement options

Circupool is already a rebadge. I am wondering if there is anything that locks me into "circupoool" branded T-15 cells or if I can open my search a bit for better deals from other reputable brands.

    Circupool SI-45 cell replacement options

I have a Circupool SI-45, that's on its 8th season. Still seems to be going strong, but am considering purchasing another cell to have on hand when that one gives out. One of the big buying points was that it was that it used a T-15 cell. My assumption was that anything T-15 could be used as...

New User - Q About Circupool Core 55

Pump manufacturers really need to consider having terminals (either line voltage or just a close relay) if the pump is running. It would make it so much easier to correctly wire SWGs. They probably don't because it might cut into their pricy automation systems. I've read about others try to...

Will honeybees be a problem with saltwater?

Sounds like you have a source for heavily discounted equipment! I have had SWG for years. Thinking of downsides is actually a chore. Changes in animal behavior is not on that list. The most notable would be the tendency of the pool's pH to push higher. Bees have a collective behaviors that...

    New SWG?

The question was leading toward keeping existing equipment until a replacement was necessary. If the cell is close to the end of its life, sure, buy one that can effortlessly keep up with demand by itself. If your current one is working as designed, and you want to hold off on the purchase...

    New SWG?

Forgetting you are currently fighting algae...... are you finding it hard to achieve your FC level? What percentage do you have to set your controller to do so?

Okay, I'm researched out... which SWCG should I get?

I ordered the CircuPool Universal40 Saltwater Chlorinator System and it has been outstanding.

    How to handle SWG settings

Salt cell demand is a dance between seasonal foriegn matter (eg, pollen, leaves), swim load, sun, temperature, and pool chemistry. Because of this, your weekly demand may change a bit. Honestly, your only "dial" is the amount the cell is turned on. For example at 20%, the cell is only...

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

Well it's done. Went the vertical route, but used 1x 90 and 1x 45 to make the connection. When it came to dry fitting, I just wasn't comfortable trying to preserve the diagonal.

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

I think the idea is to droping the 45 on the vertical lower, then extending the short pipe above the 90 and tweaking the directions of all three of the angles on the return to get it all to line up.

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

I thought of doing it both those ways. I was even wondering if it would be beneficial to re-orientate the multivalve, but that would be significant work. Since "horizontal orientation is ideal" according tto the manufacturer, I might go with the increase the diagonal approach. Also, the...

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

Aaahhh... just got my si-45 delivered. I was told that the cell was about 12" long. But after assembling the cell and the unions, it totalled 16".... 1" more than the 15" of pipe I have to work with. I'm now trying to figure out the easiest way to gain 1+" and not add too much extra plumbing...

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

I just looked at my setup again. Am I going to be in trouble if the intake to the booster pump is after the SWG? Will the increased chlorine significantly hurt that pump?

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

I am considering the "Circupool SI 45" or the "Hayward Aqua Rite 40K". Do you know the requirements of either of these units?

Looking to install a SWG. How straight forward will the plumbing be?

I currently have a pretty straight forward plumbing system. 2" piping, being sized to 1.5" to enter/exit equipment. The easiest place to put the SWG would be the diagonal pipe in the foreground. Are SWG's required to be installed in a certain orientation? How about the flow switch and a...
