    Anyone enjoy landscape design?

Okay, so I gave up and bought some landscaping software, and am so very glad I did. I used Realtime Landscaping Pro, and at $99 it was worth every penny. There is a cheaper Plus version that doesn't include the water features for pools, and the Pro version which also lets you design pools...

Poolside Planters - show them off!

Update time! My planters are doing great, and growing in really nicely. I worried about the saltwater splash, but it hasn't been an issue at all. Also worried about the tipping, but even with a pool full of teenage boys it hasn't been an issue, not even a close call. We filled the bottom with...

    Anyone enjoy landscape design?

My son makes me a stepping stone every year for Mother's Day and they need a good home, so I was going to use those. When we eventually actually dig down to make a dry creek we'll add some large rocks as needed. In theory. We actually want the wisteria to take over the gazebo, inspiration...

    Anyone enjoy landscape design?

So everyone here is so great and seems to enjoy assisting with design work, I was hoping that there might be a few folks who love landscape design as well. Now that the pool is in we're trying to define the rest of the yard and I'm really struggling to get it to look right. I did all of the pool...

What the heck do you do with your solar cover?

You are in good company! I call realizing your inherent flaws and accepting that you will not change and planning accordingly wisdom. I knew it would kill the grass, I just didn't think it would be that fast. Our lawn is a battle as it is and this was definitely a setback, but it's beginning...

    New Gazebo underway! Curtains/rod suggestions?

I love bougie patio curtains! I got these rods from Amazon: Kenney KN75796V1 Seville Standard Decorative Window Curtain Rod, 48-86", Matte Black And these curtains: Sun Zero Valencia Grommet Curtain Panel, 54" x 95", Khaki I used light clips to attach these magnetic tie backs on the support...

What the heck do you do with your solar cover?

We put ours on a reel, and it was well worth it. We've accepted we're inherently lazy people, and if it's not easy to do we won't do it. With the reel it was easy to roll on and off, so we actually used it routinely and kept the pool cleaner and warmer. Now that it's hot we put it out on the...

Poolside Planters - show them off!

I love these! I hear we're getting one of those stores here, but the shutdown disrupted everything. These are exactly the style and shape I actually wanted. What's the green spindly fluffy stuff in the middle planters? I love how it looks.

Poolside Planters - show them off!

Not sure I understand, the deck is actually just brushed concrete and the tile is a porcelain, no actual stone anywhere as we were on a budget.

Poolside Planters - show them off!

Those look great, love the wooden planter. What's planted in each of them?

Swimways Riviera Chaise (Ledge Lounger Alternative?)

I love them! I think they're hard to find now though, regrettably. They're very comfy with the mesh backing and work great as deck chairs. They make a creaking noise sometimes when we sit in them, but they're still very stable. They're hard to get into and out of, there's no graceful way to do...

Poolside Planters - show them off!

Full sun, and we're very hot and sunny here. I'll update on how they're doing, but just know if they fail it's just as likely that I'm the problem. I've had mixed success at actually keeping plants alive. Those look great! I love seeing what everyone else is doing. I'm very new at gardening...

What does your pool paradise look like?

That deck is gorgeous. Love it!

Poolside Planters - show them off!

Mission accomplished! Mixed container garden achievement unlocked ( +100 adulting ) Lemongrass (mosquito repellent), silver falls dichondra, and hypoestes. We filled the bottom with bricks, these things aren't going anywhere unless is just trying really hard.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Pool Mama's!

Pool mama here! I take care of it all. Hubby wanted to hire someone and I wasn't having that. Now I feel completely justified spending "pool guy" money on treats for me.

Following this for sure. This is something we'd like to add but aren't sure how to tackle it quite yet.

    Phone Storage Solutions

My 15 year old puts his phone into a Ziplock bag when he takes it into the spa. It is surprisingly effective, and the phone actually fits really nicely in the sandwich bag size. I was impressed at his resourcefulness. Mine is water resistant to like 5 feet or something, but has a small crack...

    It Flies, It Dies

Mosquitoes are what we always battle, never had many problems with wasps, but this is also the first year with a pool so I guess we'll see. I've been keeping an eye on the Dynatraps I first saw at Costco. Reviews were generally good, and we always tend to trust Costco products. I saw the 1/2...

Poolside Planters - show them off!

So I scored these large planters at Costco for $15 this weekend, and am trying to figure out what to put in them. I'm not really drawn to the tropical vibe, I was thinking maybe some dichondra and ornamental grass, but I'm just not sure. I've looked all over the internet, but I'd rather see...

    What's your current pool temp?

78 and perfect! Hubby still thinks it's cold. In the middle of a few 90 degree days the pool got up to 80 with the cover, but I really don't want swamp water come August so the solar cover is off for the season.

    Ledge Loungers

I got the Swimways Riviera lounge, it's designed to either go on the deck or float in the pool, but there's sections you can drill out to sink them. As floting lounges they honestly seemed dangerous, though my 15 year old was sad when I drilled them out to sink them. He liked the challenge. I...

    What's your current pool temp?

68, none of the little kids will go in, but a few of us adults and some teenagers are still game.

    Unlimited (sort of) Ice

We got an Opal nugget ice maker last year which doesn't product anything near a commercial volume, but we love it. Instead of letting the ice melt and recycle, we bag it up and store it in the outside freezer for parties and events. People also now take "to go" ice when they leave. Having a...

Swimways Riviera Chaise (Ledge Lounger Alternative?)

A cup holder would be nice, but since their primary use will be on the deck or on the tanning ledge I can just use a table for drinks. Sure beats the $659 price tag of the ledge lounger though. I found a set of two at Newegg for $351. I just ordered these today, so I'll let everyone know how...

Swimways Riviera Chaise (Ledge Lounger Alternative?)

Does anyone have experience with these lounges from Swimways? I searched the forum and didn't see anything. I'm thinking they might be good ledge lounger alternatives, it's convenient that they can be used dry, on a ledge, or as a float - though I'm highly suspicious they will actually float in...
