stabilizer not calculating correctly to test results

Drained and refilled pool. added 64 Oz, stabilizer (dry) which should bring CYA to 32 in 15K pool. Ran pump for 2 days. CYA reads low to mid 20's??? CH 350, TA 90 PH 7.5 FC 6. Was planning on using pucks to bring CYA up to ~ 40 while I was away, but didn't want to add enough to do that and then...

    PH reading at high FC

Since my CYA level is about 80-90 I have found it easier to maintain my FC at 9-11 to prevent excessive loss due to Las Vegas sun and high temps. I under stand that PH readings can be difficult to read accurately as FC approaches 10 or above. My question is... are PH readings at this FC level...

Liquid Chlorine vs SWG CYA recommended levels

Only downside that I have seen is that I need more R-0870 in order to check FC levels accurately. It seems easier to control FC with the wider band between Min-Target FC afforded by a higher CYA level.

Liquid Chlorine vs SWG CYA recommended levels

I have noticed a large difference between recommended CYA levels for liquid chlorine vs SWG pools. Living in Las Vegas with a high UV Index, I have found it difficult to maintain chlorine levels with CYA at 40-50 due to large daily swings. I seem to have found what I consider a sweet spot with...

    high FC and PH

Draining for both repairs and chemistry. Had a pool service till midsummer that was using pucks, but had 2 algae blooms in 3 weeks with them while FC was 4 all month so I let them go. Slammed and it has been ok since. Also been doing most of my own repairs ( replaced pump and repaired leaking...

    high FC and PH

Not slamming right now, but having just switched to TFP this summer my CYA is 80-90. Following chart, Min FC is 6-7 and target is 9-12 putting my FC over 10 at times. I was just wondering if a digital PH meter would read PH correctly even with FC over 10. Need repairs to decking and lights this...

    high FC and PH

I have read that when FC is over 10 ( correcting for high CYA or slamming) that PH readings will be incorrect. Since the PH appears to be higher than it actually is when tested, I am assuming that the high FC is skewing the PH when chemically tested. Would a digital PH meter show the correct PH...

Speedstir results vs manual results for FAS-DPD chlorine level

I have found that my speedstir vial has both a 10ml and a 11.5ml line and that when filled to the 10ml line and then inserting the magnetic stick it will go up to the 11.5ml line. So now I can just leave the magnetic stick in and fill to the 11.5ml line to have a 10ml water sample.
