new pool - what to get?

A friend has one of the endless pool swim spas. It is about two hottub lengths long and has the current you swim into. It also has heat so it can be used in the winter but she said it does not get as hot as a hottub and is too much of a pain to try and heat because it is pretty big so they just...

    Pool wanted in Massachusetts

We had to dig 2.5ft over about 18ft and that was a lot of digging. We also put in a retaining wall which is no where near as tall as yours and was not cheap. You may be looking at $15K+ just in ground prep and a wall. Radiants are a good quality pool.

    Liner decision & color help

I think they both are nice but I like the top of the little silver a bit better. It looks more poolish (yes I am using that like it is a actual word).

15 x 30 AG pool, can I put the skimmer on the end?

Downwind for the skimmer probably helps to collect debris but then the return is working against the wind. Not sure if that makes a diffence?

15 x 30 AG pool, can I put the skimmer on the end?

Oh and in my case I would not want the skimmer and return any farther along the straight because I would imagine the end of the pool would get even less movement. At the moment I have a very obvious dead zone where bugs and dirt collect on the bottom.

This is where mine is. It is the first panel at the start of the curve.

15 x 30 AG pool, can I put the skimmer on the end?

When I had my 18 x 33 installed professionally I had asked to have the skimmer on the end of the oval. The guy told me where he had it was the farthest it could go towards the end. I then checked my pool manual and it actually had a note about not installing the skimmer on the end so the guy was...

Above ground build - sand base question

I would assume before because I have no idea how you would calculate the sand needed after it is compressed.

New pool install - had to dig 4ft below grade - ah!

Put stone over the black stuff to make it look nicer. The only problem you may have is a moat around the pool so I would do a french drain on the slope side at least. My sister had a slope like that for years (actually hers was a higher variance and just had a garden on the slope side and never...

I never heard of the skimmer socks before!

Concrete dust and pebbles in pool

So we made a huge mistake by not covering our pool for a patio renovation. The start of the concrete patio is about 13' away from the pool and my husband let me know small concrete bits got in the pool while they were jack-hammering the patio apart (along with dust). He tried his best to skim...

New pool install - had to dig 4ft below grade - ah!

Re: New pool install - had to dig 4ft below grade - ah! You don't want to put too much against the wall unless it is rated for semi inground. Otherwise you will void your warranty and may have a cave in if you have to empty the pool. Also, you need to check your local codes. Here I need to have...
