    When to secure top rails

I’m picturing something, anything like this which is wider than my top rail and looks like it would slide over but like pvc so I can cut it. Am I crazy?

    When to secure top rails

What if I could find something that would fit tight over the stabilizer rails just under those particular top plates? 🤔

    When to secure top rails

Weellll, not quite. It has been a journey and it seems I may have made the biggest mistake of all. The liner fit is great and pool is all but filled and somehow I just now noticed that a few of my posts are like 1/2-3/4” high. As you can see, there is a lip on my top plate which is not...

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Good luck with the car. I know the feeling. Going out to turn vacuum off. I feel better about that. Thanks again.

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Awesome. Thank you. Should I inch the vacuum up so it stays above the water line? Was just debating on whether I should leave the vac run over night so your timing is perfect. Is there a point where it is ok to fill at night? My new liner ended up being more of a pool rehab so now no water...

    When to secure top rails

I’ve read to place top rails after liner is set and filling begins. I don’t recall doing this at Initial setup bc I can remember adjusting overlap liner throughout the filling process. Pretty sure when I shut off this vac shortly I will see wrinkles on the walls. I’m only ankle depth in my 27’ agp

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

I know, right? Border isn’t perfect but wasn’t going back. Brutal week with 100 degree temps. Floor seam I believe is acceptable. Do you know when I should put the top rails on? If I shut the vac off there are some wrinkles in the walls ….

https://share.icloud.com/photos/038r8w-o7_OTjh2ITWISoyHDg Not sure if that pic will post. 🤔 Not crazy about my liner choice (after all that consideration🙄) but I would say so far, not a bad job for an old lady and her daughter. lol. Please tell me you’ve seen worse!

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Soooo, I have ankle depth water in the pool. Everything looks good with vac still running. At what point should I put both stabilizer and top rails on? Prior to turning the vac back on I thought I would have to do more adjusting (overlap) but at this point I think it is what it is. Please advise...

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Good description phonedave. Heading to the hardware store for adhesive spray and may get some more stakes and line. I’d like to paint the top rails but didn’t want to keep them off any longer than necessary. That option will be yet to be determined. I’ll let you know how the foam goes!

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Good advice on “most available parts”. I tend to make things more difficult. A bit windy today but not 100 degrees as the first few days of this project. 82 temp will suffice but the breeze may be my nemesis as far as wall foam and liner. I guess we’ll see!

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Decided to wait for new wall foam. Arrives today. Pool is still standing! Whew. Gorilla pad look great after swept and dried. Unrelated question- I found a random unused skimmer in my garage 🤷🏻‍♀️. It is larger/deeper than the one I’ve been using all these years. The mouth size and holes will...

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

No idea what the cut is. Didn’t think to ask. Also don’t expect the irony of a heat wave. I won’t wait. Hopefully filling by this evening. Thanks for your comments. They help

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Sweeping sand off bottom side and will remove to dry while touching up the sand. I’m thinking I can just flip it over when replacing - for visual satisfaction. lol. Started to wonder if it may be worth the risk of leaving it empty till monday. Whew it is so d—n hot! Another ask, I like the feel...

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Ok, so in removing the old liner I see my gorilla pad is pretty yucky, spotted with algae. I wasn’t expecting that. The pad is solid but obviously had gotten wet Would you suggest reusing or eliminate?

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Then…wish me luck! I was just reading through my old posts from when I originally installed the first liner. Sounds like I didn’t have it then. lol. Kinda wish I wouldn’t have reminded myself

So sounds like I won’t run the risk of it stretching “too much”.

Hoping for a quick answer- TOO hot to install new liner?

Hello. I finally got my pool empty and today is the day. It’s supposed to hit the 90s and it just hit me whether that high of a temp could cause issues with install?? I will be filling with hose, at least the first half. 70s tonight but same next 2 days, mid 90s, 70s at night…

    Help with current Chem

First off, thank you for not bashing me for getting a pool store test. I’ve been using tfp since receiving advice on construction a number of years ago and do trust the processes. This year drastic times called for drastic measures So….. chem held steady as best as I can tell. So far so so good...

    Help with current Chem

Thanks so much. It is unfortunately from a pool store. One I trust way more than others from the past, but a pool store none the less. My kit is MIA and a million other things you probably wouldn’t believe if I told you. I just want to get this close so it doesn’t go south on me. Water “looks”...

    Help with current Chem

I’m not sure why I confused by this at the moment but but when I use pool math and then look at Effects of Adding, my brain is not comprehending. Why am i not holding chlorine? I realize my combined his high. I just added stabilizer yesterday and maybe bleach too soon after? Should I do anything...

    Debris returning to Pool

None of the above except yes, de filter (Hayward 4820). Filter grids were cleaned and refreshed at beginning of season. Pressure has never risen much above starting point except once when filter basket was full of beetles last week. Eww, beetle season in PA. Chem has been spot on. Cleaned again...

    Debris returning to Pool

Hi folks. I know there are no short cuts, but I’m going to try to take one here. Since opening I have had debris back in the pool. (There is no way that many gnats accumulate on the bottom over night.) I know what to check — filter grids or multiport. But it’s the time, I don’t have time to...

No de coming out with backwash

I am backwashing my de filter and realized no de powder is coming out. Water was clear from the start. I have a multiport valve on a hayward 4820. And yes, I know there was powder put in. Pool has been great. Last backwash was maybe beginning of June. Return flow was low yesterday, pressure was...

Address ph, ta or leave it be?

One more thing, please, to me it makes sense to do a thorough clean of my de filter after such a terrific SLAM. Pressure is holding well though. Would you still do a cleanout?
