What to correct first TA, CH or CYA?

Thanks for the info TXSplash, exactly what I needed. I'll double check on the SLAM completion, the water may not be as clear as it should be, now with the sun I noticed. So I'll keep that chlorine flowing one more day and check loss and clarity again. Thanks!

    Pool Heater ....Should I?????

+1 for the gas heater. Not sure of the natural gas price in NJ, but here in TX is not that expensive to maintain the pool temp with gas to extend the season. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Pump Disassembly - Worried about the flange and other issues.

Thanks Pool Clown. I'll try breaking loose the bolts while still in place, for this one. Will post my results, this is my weekend project. Hopefully it will not end with me buying a new motor or pump :) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

I have the same one that is in the link, and used it last week, I was amazed with the results. I was able to pick up all the leaves in the bottom.

    What am i missing?....

If the caps are damaged YMMV. It may be it never runs or just that it will not run or start with under certain conditions (i.e. high humidity) From your post I understand that the motor does not start unless you give it a push.. Is that the case or just randomly it does not start? Where you...

Pentair Model WF-28 Loud Whining Noise

Hi Dave, Normally loud whining/screeching noises if coming from the pump motor a a tell tale of broken/damaged ball bearings. If you have the right tools and are not afraid of getting down and dirty this may be a good weekend project :) Check this article. How To Replace the Bearings in a...

Pump Disassembly - Worried about the flange and other issues.

Thanks so much @kadavis, I think the seal plate should be ok my worry is the actual motor flange, check the pic I linked and look at the thread on the top screw that is securing the motor to the seal plate. Any insight on my other question re: stuck bolts?

Texas vs. SWG - What is the deal

To my comment on Stainless Steel is that it corrodes in Houston without the need of a pool in the 10 mile radius :) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Texas vs. SWG - What is the deal

I know the thread is old.. But here I go: Nobody mentioned that at least in Houston, everything rusts regardless of the proximity of a pool. With the heat and humidity even stainless steel rusts in Houston :) I've had the my SWG pool for 2 years and the speed my patio furniture rust has not...

    What am i missing?....

Yes, changing a starting Capacitor is not hard, very DIY if you know how to work with tools :) First check thai the impeller and motor shaft is turning freely. Turn off the motor (cut breaker just in case), grab the shaft with your fingers and should turn freely and easily. This rules out that...

Pump Disassembly - Worried about the flange and other issues.

I'm doing motor maintenance and have 2 questions. I bought the pool/house 2 years ago and looks like the previous owners were not too good on maintenance (or that I'm very picky :) 1) The seal on my pentair Intelliflo gave up and there is leaking every now and then (looks like the leaking stops...

    Using a PB in Vegas

Great pool!! I will just add my 2 cents. Go for the infloor cleaning, I have a pentair one and love that thing! The pool is always clean and there is nothing inside going around to clean or take care of. The only thing you do is take the leaf canister from the deck and empty it. Cheers and...

    Hello from Cypress, TX

One more thing!! I bought the house with the poll already made (actually I wanted to buy a pool and came with a house :) So I do not know who the builder is or who did the re-finishing. They told me that it was re-finished 3 years ago. The house was sold by a relocation company so they had...
