How Clear is TFP Clear? Let's See (Pics Only Please).

I finally have a good photo to post, but I’m still waiting for a calm day to be really smooth and clear. No deep end, but not bad for 48”.

Having them dump sand straight inside the frame?

Unless you like extra work I’d have them dump it inside the frame too. No point moving the sand multiple times.

Sand filter 2 inch valve reduced to 1.5

There shouldn't be much if any downside. The outlet of the filter should be fairly clean, so there shouldn't be much stuff to collect. I wouldn't worry about it.

Day 5 of SLAM pool still cloudy

What are your test results? Especially CYA, FC, and CC? If your CYA is too low the high UV may be burning off the chlorine faster than it can oxidize nasties in the pool.

Do I need a New larger Filter?

They list as it being an in ground pool. Some quick google math shows that the pool is about 18k gallons. I have (soon to be had) a 75lb sand filter on my 15k gallon pool. My water is crystal clear. I don’t think it’s a filter size issue persay, unless your pump is oversized and flowing more...

Using Foam Gym Tiles Under Bestway 16 x 10 pool

That’s almost exactly what I did. This pic shows the pad, tarp, and upright. I’m on dirt, but same thing should apply on concrete too.

Using Foam Gym Tiles Under Bestway 16 x 10 pool

You don’t have to put a tarp under but if you’re concerned about ants, weeds, etc you should. Given it’s a concrete pad under I probably wouldn’t bother. I would avoid putting the uprights on the pads. You want those on solid, stable, and flat ground.

    New VSP and Filter Time

My GAME 3/4 HP pump stopped working today. Fiddling with it and trying to get it back in working shape seem to be doing me no good. Seems to be a short on one of the windings is my guess. So, in classic form, it's upgrade time! I'm limited to 115V currently (though as I prep to put in a shed in...

If you didn’t log it in the app and just used the effects of adding I don’t think so.

Best way to replace gaskets on suction and returns while pool is filled

I just held the inner portion by hand and used channel locks on the outside. Careful not to overtighten, the plastic threads will crack.

Best way to replace gaskets on suction and returns while pool is filled

I bought an entire gasket set from Splash Pool Gasket Kit As far as replacing went, I worked really fast, had one person outside, one inside, and had the person outside put their hand on the hole. It’s surprisingly easy to just block it off with a hand from the outside for long enough to...

Filter issue - sand bars in pool

Much better to leave the pump and filter on and deal with the sand. Worst case you vacuum it and it goes right back into the filter, no sand lost and no harm/foul to the water.

Adding some hard piping to my 15k gallon above ground

I got my new SWG installed after a few days of chemical fun. A few things that I've learned/near future plans: 45k gallon SWG cells are big and heavy I cracked my new multiport valve outlet from the new weight of the cell putting pressure on the outlet Hence the 5 gallon bucket holding up...

    Solar Pool Cover

Almost certainly, yes. You'll see a pretty significant cost savings on your heater, have reduced chlorine demand from reducing UV exposure, and help prevent evaporative losses of water. Solar covers are an excellent investment!

    Smorobot X10 review

Just pulled the smorobot out of storage for the winter and gave it the rough task of picking up a bunch of the leaves and similar in my pool. It took about 3 cycles, each coming back with a totally full basket, to rid the pool of most of the leaves. It seems to be doing a pretty good job with...

    Fill Water Alk

That's what my fill water is typically like as well, though I don't have nearly as much evaporation. Get a cover if you don't already as that should help with evaporation. Otherwise, adding acid periodically to lower TA and pH then aerate to raise pH is your best bet.

    Superpool Seals

Hey Shira, I've got a 15k Splash Superpool. I just replaced some of the seals on my inlet as it was leaking. It's pretty easy to do, just pull off the plastic bits, replace the gasket, and screw it back on. If the pool is empty that's easiest, but it can be done when full. I got my gaskets...

Adding some hard piping to my 15k gallon above ground

It wasn’t the threaded union. Coupler might be the right word. Just the bit that attaches two pipes to each other.

Adding some hard piping to my 15k gallon above ground

The primer gets literally everywhere I swear. And it’s impossible to open a new bottle of the stuff without spilling it everywhere. My wife reminded me that my hands were dirty and I should wash them. Unfortunately the dirt is glued onto my hands at this point! I was also on auto pilot when I...

Adding some hard piping to my 15k gallon above ground

Finished up the plumbing, at least until the SWG arrives! Feeling much better with the hard plumbing in place finally. No more leaks! 😁

Adding some hard piping to my 15k gallon above ground

I was tired of the janky hose fittings, leaks, converters, and all the other fun that usually come with non-permanent above ground pool plumbing and decided to go ahead and move to PVC and a good SWG (I had an Intex SWG last year, it worked fine but I burnt through the cell). I need a few more...

    Smorobot X10 review

OCLT was good, lost 0ppm. I think part of it is the shape of my above ground pool walls. They're not perfectly vertical but have a bit of a curve to them, so the X11 tends to not stick to the wall as it gets to the waterline. I wish I had a way to turn my X11 into the X10 and do a standard clean...

    Smorobot X10 review

Can you tell a difference on the mesh on the regular and ultrafine? I can't and the labeling is not great so I'm not 100% sure which is which. Maybe I got two regulars?

    Smorobot X10 review

On the areas I manually vacuumed there's nothing there. I'll do an OCLT tonight to confirm but chlorine usage has been pretty minimal thus far.
