Man how can I have such bad luck? After doing all this the pump is bad now too? I’m assuming that’s not fixable?

So I replaced the GFCI that my pump plugs in to, same thing.. GFCI pops right when I turn on the pump.. I unhooked my pump and plugged it into a standard outlet and it turns on fine.. What's the deal!?

I wish I could. My son was vacuuming and the the gfci popped after like 15 minutes. I reset it, turned the pump back on, and it’s instantly popping the gfci again. I can’t win.

So after filling the pool back up to where I can run the pump, it's working now.. The only thing I've done since the last time it wasn't working is taking apart the pump and put it back together.. There was nothign clogged in the pump so no clue..

But I've tried two hoses and two different vacuums.. Also ran the water through the return, into the hose, and watched it come out freely so the hose appears fine. My pressure drops to 0 and you can hear the pump loses prime.. I get barely any suction at all.

Thanks for the reply.. So I just completely took apart my pump. There was nothing clogged in it. The other thing you see in the video is called a PoolSkim. It just goes right on the return and basically creates a tornado and pulls things in, works great, have had it for years.. What do you put...

If you look in the video, my plumbing is pretty straight forward.. And, I have good pressure when not vacuuming it's just when I try to vacuum.. Yea, it's on filter.. Could the sand in the filter be the issue? Thanks for the replies.

Thanks for the reply. I tried two different hoses. I also held one end over the return and the other end I didn’t connect to anything. Water came pouring out of it so that tells me it’s not clogged (and I tried two hoses).

This has been one of the most frustrating times of my life, no joke.. All of this is self inflicted which makes it even worse.. I went to open my pool and found I didn't completely drain my sand filter.. It cracked the flange and heaved the multiport valve up.. I drained all the sand to find...

So I replaced the lateral and multi port with brand new parts. Same exact issue. I am getting around 12 psi on high and when I hook up my vacuum it drops to zero and I get barely any suck. Totally stumped at this point and very frustrated. A lot of work draining this monster sand filter...

Ok thanks. I ordered the whole part. Side question. A section of my pool looks like this. Is this rust and is it something I should be concerned about?

I opened this weekend.. Found I somehow didn't completely drain my filter so the flange cracked and heaved the multiport up.. The white plastic pipe on the lateral assembly cracked.. I sucked all the sand out and pulled out the lateral assembly.. None of the laterals were cracked, just the...

Replacing liner. Before close or before open?

Thanks for the reply. Not the answer I was hoping for but I understand. Any idea how difficult it is to do? I will be googling and YouTubing but figured I’d ask the pros. If you have any helpful links I’d appreciate it. Thanks

Replacing liner. Before close or before open?

I’ve had a heck of a year with my pool this year. Pump died on open, luckily fixed with capacitor replacement. Heater giving a SB error (stuck button), luckily fixed with new keypad, only to last two weeks and give me the SB error again. And then my liner leaking a ton. Found numerous holes and...

Just open my pool. Having issues with Hayward dual speed pump.

This is the plug to the pump.. Last year it locked up at one point and continued to run and did that to the cord end and the gfci.. It worked after that though.. I just went out and removed the capacitor and tried turning the pump on.. Still pops instantly so I don't think the new capacitor is...

So I got the new capacitor installed yesterday.. I fired it up and still had to kick start it on low, but now I could switch it over to high and it was running.. Let it run on high for a few hours then put the solar cover on and put it on low.. It ran all night with no issues.. Today I went out...

Just open my pool. Having issues with Hayward dual speed pump.

Thanks. Yeah it seems to be worse. I just went out to check the switch as you recommended and it actually does make some low hum on high originally, then after a few switches off/ on with the high button, it stops making any noise at all. Low continues to require a spin with the screwdriver to...
