    Is my SWG cell failing?

So it sees the -1900 as the salinity and stops producing FC? I will order a new cell today from Amazon prime and hopefully have it in 2-3 days. Should I switch the polarity again to keep it producing in the meantime? Thanks for the assistance from both of you!!

    Is my SWG cell failing?

Hello all, I have a Hayward Aqua Rite SWG with T-15 cell. I believe the equipment & cell are 10 years old. The display on the SWG shows the salt level at 2800 but my Taylor K-1766 test shows the salt level to be 4000. I ran a full battery of tests this morning with my TF-100 test kit and FC...

    New pump not working

Quick update - the owner of the local pool store came out yesterday afternoon and looked at the pump. He couldn't find the problem with the pump so he wound up replacing it for me. I'm up and running now! Thanks for all the replies to my questions!

    New pump not working

Thanks. I'll go back to the store tomorrow and talk to them. I'm definitely no electrician so I was just hoping I hadn't done something dumb to burn it up! Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

    New pump not working

Bought a new pump motor today. Wired it up and ran it long enough to check for leaks. I then pumped water to waste for about 10 minutes to lower the level of water in the pool. I then turned the pump back off to move the valve back to filter. When I went to turn the pump back on -...

    Fire ants in the pump!!

Opened the pool this weekend. When I went to fire up the pump...nothing! I started checking around the pump and realized that fire ants had built a mound by the pump and they were in the electrical side of the pump. I have taken steps to kill the little buggers but I hope this can be an easy...

    LPS Facebook posts...just for fun!

The Pool Store - "Pool tip of the day" are you checking the active ingredients of your shock before you put it in your pool? Key words to look for in your "Active Ingredients" are: Di-chlor (salt based, 58% active chlorine) Calcium (calcium based, 73% active chlorine) Beware of "Tri-chlor"...

Best brush for IG vinyl liner

I have a Polaris and it keeps the pool clean, but when my pool needs a little extra brushing, I use a Wall Whale brush. The fin on the brush provides resistance to keep the brush firmly against the pool wall or floor. This operation is much less physical than having to hold the pole brush...

    LPS Facebook posts...just for fun!

Just for fun, I follow my local pool store's facebook page. They post a "Tip of the Day" several days per week. Just for fun, here are a few of their recent posts. :D:D So glad I have learned the TFP method!! I've never heard the lightening/nitrogen one before...any truth to this at all...

**I HAVE 7 DAYS to get water in good shape. Looking for advice!

Are you sure your CYA is 30? On 5/15 you stated that CYA was <30 and you could see the black dot when the tube was filled all the way to the top. This indicates a CYA level of less than 30, possibly 0.

What did you do to your pool today?

Opened the pool a couple of days ago. Water was clean and clear...and 68 degrees! The past 2 evenings the kids have been swimming. Brrrr...that's a little too cool for me!

    LED Lighting

Hi all, I am considering changing my pool light to a color LED bulb. I have been looking at the J&J Electronics ColorSplash 3G. I have found one for under $300. Does anyone have any experience with this bulb or would you recommend something different? My pool has one light - in the deep...

    Pool water evaporation...

I have noticed my water level dropping quicker than normal over the last week or so here in Rome, GA too. Like you, we have had cooler than normal temps. I looked for leaks over the weekend and found nothing.

    Today's test results

I did a full battery of tests this afternoon with my TF100. Let me know if you think I should adjust anything: FC 5.5 CC .5 (just a tinge of pink) CH 75 TA 80 pH 7.5 or 7.6 (I'm not great at judging the colors in this test) CYA 70 I've never had any CC when testing in the past...

    Skimmer Question

Yes, "Closed" is opposite the handle. So if there isn't a way to split is 70/30 or so, is it best to leave the drain closed most of the time? Thanks!

    Skimmer Question

I have noticed that the skimmer suction isn't very powerful. Is there a way to divert from the main drain and increase the skimmer action? Here is a photo of how it is set up now. How should I position the handle to divert more suction to the skimmer and away from the main drain. Thanks in...

    Salt Levels

I pressed the diagnostic button for 3 secs to reset the light, but after a few minutes the light began flashing again. That's why I'm wondering if the cell may be going bad. The cell looked pretty bad, so I decided to go ahead and clean it.

    Salt Levels

My "Inspect Cell" light was flashing on the Aqua Rite panel, indicating it was time to clean the cell. I cleaned it with muriatic acid as outlined in the manual, but it is still flashing to inspect the cell. Could this mean the cell is going bad? Would that cause it to give an incorrect salt...

    Salt Levels

I added enough salt to get my levels to about 3000 and verified that with my Taylor K1766 Salt Test. My SWG is telling me that the salt level is only 2600 and a light is flashing indicating low salt level. Who should I believe here? Should I add more salt or trust the test kit results? The...
