    Chlorine reading

Pool 18X12X52 pole pool Intex Krystal Klear SWG rated for 15K gallons Taylor test kit indicate salt ppm at 3200. Chlorine appears to be 0 based on Taylor test kit. pH is good. Is 3200 ppm an optimum salt level or do I need to add more? The filter and SWG have been running for a few days now.

    Second Intex SWG Failed

I'm now on my second Intex Krystal Klear SWG that has failed. The second one was just out of warranty so I'm SOL! I had to order a replacement titanium diode and this failed to fix my low salt alarm. I bypassed the sensor but that did nothing. I now have to deal with returning the part for a...

    Salt level

Just wondering what ideal salt level is for a 6000-7000 gallon above ground (18X12X52). Ph and chlorine look good on K-1000 drop test. K-1766 drop test shows 1600 ppm salt

    SWG not working

I have an Intex Crystal Clear 8110 SWG. It's about 4 years old. It is no longer producing chlorine. The low salt alarm sounds about 10 minutes into the cycle. I tested salt levels with the Taylor K-1766 test kit and all levels are right where they should be. Water is crystal clear. I've heard...

Vacuuming a pool with a cartridge filter

What is the best method to vacuum a pool with a cartridge filter? I don't think I get enough pressure build up in the filter to use a standard pool hose vacuum. I purchased the Catfish rechargeable vacuum that connects to the skimmer pole but I just never get a super clean vacuum job. Any...

    CYA test

I opened my salt water pool and all is good. I purchased the TFT complete test kit last year. I cannot get the hang of the CYA test (or my chlorine is out of balance). I mix the pool water with the 0013 solution but when I pour into the clear tube (hold at waist level and fill until the black...

    Intex Krystal Clear 8110

So I just received my TF-100 kit. Tried a few of the tests and the CYA reveals between 20-30 on the view tube. Total chlorine is high (pool was shocked within the last 4-5 days). I have an SWCG pool. Does the CYA level seem low or is that expected due the pool being shocked?

    Intex Krystal Clear 8110

What is a SLAM? I will pick up an FAS/DPD chlorine test kit or have local pool store test. And yes I believe the pool lost 3-5 ppm over 3.5 hours. Pool is crystal clear so maybe guess strips are not the actual reading. If an algae problem, it would be visible correct?

    Intex Krystal Clear 8110

These are results from test strip now: A few hours FC was in the 3-5 range while shock cycle was still running. What I meant by expected level was in the 3-5 ppm FC range. - - - Updated - - - It dropped to 0 ppm in about a 3.5 hour timeframe - - - Updated - - - The boost cycle is...

    Intex Krystal Clear 8110

I have the Intex Krystal Clear SWG Model CS8110. It will not generate chlorine in a normal fashion. I have run the boost cycle twice which brings it up to expected levels only to have it drop to 0 free chlorine after the cycle is complete a few hours later. My normal cycle is 5 hours (boost is...

    Converting to salt water

Just looked at this chlorine generator for my pool. Any pros/cons? http://www.smartpool.com/website/Produc ... nator.aspx They said they last about 3 years for an above ground pool. Is that the average?

    Converting to salt water

I'm looking to convert my pool to salt water. It's an above ground about 7000 gallon capacity (pole pool). Filter is cartridge. Not sure what I need to purchase or where exactly to start. Looking to get this all ready prior to opening this year. Any suggestions?
