How old is this Hayward sand filter ?

There’s no date on my Hayward S220T tag. I do see this on the bottom while I’m cleaning it. Is this a manufacture date? We’ve only lived here 3 years. Thank you.

Crack in main center pipe of pool filter ?

There seems to be this tiny gap where the center pipe meets the black part. Do I need to glue that or something? The big arrow is pointing to a spot that looks like it may have been glued by previous owner. I’ve noticed a little dirt or sand in the pool but nothing huge to note .

    Filter sand — clean enough?

Am I likely to cause damage to old equipment by replacing it ?

    Filter sand — clean enough?

This is our third season with this pool and our first deep clean of our Hayward S220T. I have followed directions and rinsed for nearly an hour … and there’s still gunk. How good is “enough?” Or should I just replace the sand. I have no idea how the pool was maintained before we bought it 3...

    Surprise frigid temps!

We have a coop heater. What a great idea. Thanks for the tips on learning how to drain .

    Surprise frigid temps!

Yes, it's the equipment I was more concerned about. Should I be concerned?

    Surprise frigid temps!

It's rare but we are expecting 13 degree temps in GA at Christmas. I haven't closed my pool and would prefer not to but now what do I do? Just keep my filter going for 48 hours? Cover equipment? Or a full winterize? Thank you !

    Crack in skimmer body?

Thanks . Just wasn’t sure why there looks to be some sort of glue or putty applied only to part of it.

    Crack in skimmer body?

I’m doing a bucket test currently, but in my inspection I found this gap/crack in the skimmer housing (located in the found part at about 9:00-3:00 in the photo). Is this normal? There does appear to be either some glue or epoxy around 5:00 in the circle. Thanks !

    White floaters

The photo is blurry. It looms like little flakes.

    White floaters

What is this white floating material? We have had problems with our SWG and have been shocking with liquid bleach and are finally maintaining at no more than a 0.5 ppm fluctuaion overnight.

    SLAM and CYA

Hello, New to pools here, as are many of us. We need to SLAM as we are losing 2ppm in the OCLT. I see algae floating but its not taken over yet. Our pool has a salt system we are repairing so right now I’m treating it like a chlorine pool with bleach. Our CYA is 80 which is above recommended...

SWG not producing —PCB or cell?

It was indeed the thermistor. He has ordered the replacement. How complicated is it? Hopefully nothing an electronics engineer can’t figure out. Thanks !

SWG not producing —PCB or cell?

Thank you. My husband will open it up and check it out. Either way the cell is 9 years old too and most likely needs to be replaced as well, right ? In the meantime should we SLAM the pool? The chlorine level is so low I can’t even get it to register with my Taylor test kit. I don’t want to...

SWG not producing —PCB or cell?

Thank you very much. I wasn’t sure how old it was but 9 year old cell may explain it. I will make some calls tomorrow. After any of the non-OEM cells “safe”? They’re certainly cheaper.

SWG not producing —PCB or cell?

First season with a pool and it seems our AquariteT15 pro is not producing chlorine or is seriously underperforming. Latest salt test (k-1766) was 2600 and FASDPD Chlorine I could not get to turn more than a very faint pink despite shoveling the DPD powder and our water is cloudy with signs of...
