Yeah, as mentioned it is acting weird as the first time pulled out, the motor seemed to pass the test, impeller axle did spin. Putting the motor back in and even with the tracks off, the impeller did not spin. hmmm

I pulled the motor assembly and then put it back in and still the same problem. I will watch a few more youtube videos to see if there is anything else to check. I hope this robot didnt die after just over a year. The time saving of a robot makes it a necessity at this point.

I did not have a chance to check the filter grid but I notice today that there is noticeably less material on the pool bottom. I have run the pump on high yesterday for most of the day and on low today plus robot cleaning everyday. I am starting to wonder if the filter grid is actually okay?

After reading another thread like mine that is near the top, it sounds like I should check the filter grid for tears and also make sure that the valve is seated properly. Everything was honkey dorey before the backwash, can that cause a tear in the filter grid?

Is "rinse" just returning to the original position?

Getting my pool up and running and figure I should backwash the DE filter. I know how to get the filter into backwash mode where the water and material is discharged out the waste line by pulling up on the plunger in front of the filter and rotating it. I read about then switching to rinse mode...

<fixed> Those are the correct positions. I pulled the o ring to clean and regrease. I tried to prime again and the same result but I simply waited a bit longer and water started to trickle into the basket again and sure enough it eventually primed. Must have had a lot of air in the line...

I believe it is when the handle is 90 degree clockwise from this picture and this is in normal pump position. 90 degrees ccw pushes water to the water feature, which is capped off at the feature.

Same result whether recirculating position on valve or normal pump position is open.

No weir doors.

After the basket is dry and I shut off the motor, I open the basket lid and water gushes back into the basket area.
