CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

Thanks for the guidance and direction. I’ll give this a try this season (pool opening on Thursday!) and see if it reduces acid consumption.

CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

Should I have any concerns about keeping the pH on the higher side (around 8); I had always understood the target to be closer to 7.4 - 7.6. What I'm hearing, though, is that 8 is ok with my TA around 50. All of these parameters would keep my LSI at/around the right value.

CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

I don't know the answer for the fill water, but I can test it. Plaster is about to start its 4th year/pool season. Built in Spring 2021.

CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

It does not stay in that range; it drops. I add about 10 - 15 lbs of baking soda, on average, per month.

CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

    Sure; thanks! Here's what I typically see (as measured by Taylor test kit): Alkalinity - 70 - 80 Calcium - 350 pH - Rises to about 8.2, 8.3 after a few days; acid bumps it down to about 7.3/7.4 CYA - 20 Chlorine - 3 - 5

CircuPool TotalBalance for pH Control - Feedback?

Hi - Does anyone have any recent experience with CircuPool's Total Balance system for C02 injection as a means to lower pH? Searched other forum posts and most recent posts about this product are from 2019 or older. Curious if anyone has had recent good or bad experiences. pH Control I'm...

    Pool Cover Pump

My pool cover collects rain water in three separate areas (two side of pool cover, and within a raised spa), which means pumping rain water from three discreet locations. Does a pump/product exists where I could run three “suction hoses” (one to each area of standing water) from a single...

Pool Store Testing with Taylor Test Kit / Reagents

Fair point. And I do have my own kit and do test on my own. But, being new too this, have used them for validation of my own results. We are usually pretty close. Thanks for the insight and perspective.

Pool Store Testing with Taylor Test Kit / Reagents

My pool builder / store operates a “water chemistry lab” where they have multiple testing stations at which employees run the full suite of pool water tests “manually” using various Taylor test reagents / drop tests. I understand the TFP community position on pool store testing, but given that...

    Can Calcium Affect Chlorine Levels?

New pool owner / first year maintaining myself and looking for insight on a sudden drop in chlorine levels. Chlorine has been stable all season between 3 and 4ppm; have salt water chlorine generator. Two days ago, added 7 pounds of calcium as levels were a little low (230ppm). The next day...

Speakers are in the ground. Minor issue.

Appreciate the reply. Sorted it out. Ended up being a bit of moisture on the speaker ends I hadn’t yet terminated causing a bit of a short.

Speakers are in the ground. Minor issue.

Recently installed the Monoprice Sycamore with four satellites around a new pool build, but I’m having an issue where the sound output to each satellite is very low, to the point where they can’t be heard from a foot or so away, with volume maxed out. Using a 200w amp with Amazon Alexa as the...

    Sheer Descent Lighting

You’re likely right. Is there a particular product folks have used that’s a waterproof LED light bar? Not sure if i need something specifically made for pools.

    Sheer Descent Lighting

Picture attached for reference. I think it’d be exposed wiring on the front / pool side of the wall (in the picture, you can see the raised wall that steps down from the middle; spillways on the center portion, and the two steps down on either side) but since the back of the wall is still open...

    Sheer Descent Lighting

I would have the ability to provide power (e.g., with a nearby low voltage transformer or standard outdoor electric outlet).

    Sheer Descent Lighting

Hi all - just discovered this forum; super helpful info. I’m half way through a pool build in NJ and have a question re: lighting a sheer descent/spillway. We are putting in a raised wall with three sheer descents/spillways. Unfortunately, the thought of lighting these water features didn’t...
