Need to slam after pump not working for 2.5 weeks? Water is clear and have been adding choline.

Okay I believe we passed the Overnight test. Cya was at 60, FC 9.5 at dark, tested at first light and FC was at a 9. So would you skip slamming and just get water back in balance and skim/clean the pool of debris? Thanks

Need to slam after pump not working for 2.5 weeks? Water is clear and have been adding choline.

Hello, we had our pump stop working 2.5 weeks ago and have been going through the warranty process to have it replaced. To prevent algae I’ve been basically adding a gallon or more of chlorine to the water every other day and skimming/brushing it. That being said it’s been sitting with the pump...

    To SLAM or not ??

Thank you. Did an overnight test and my chlorine was a 4ppm last night and still at 4ppm this morning. My CC is now 0 and no longer at .5 so I think we are good? I may raise the chlorine level to a 10 tonight like you mentioned and run pump all night to be sure.

    To SLAM or not ??

Hello! We are almost a full year into pool ownership and so far following TFP methods has kept our pool clear and easy to maintain. This week we had a flow switch go out on the salt cell causing it to stop producing for a couple days before we realized it, we also had some rain. So today my test...

We just converted to swg this past week and the chlorine level had been high and climbing each day as we get the shoutout adjusted. Decided to do an overnight test and we went from FC 10 to an 8 overnight. (I did take the morning sample after sunrise but there was no direct light in the pool...

Starting up SWG this weekend. Checklist?

We started the SWG Sunday at 70% to get going. FC was at a 4 when we started it up. Yesterday FC was at a 6.5 so I dialed back the output to 60%. Today we are at a 7.5 so SWG is def working but I’m not sure if I need to dial it back more? What’s the best way to figure out % output and hours to...

Thanks. Added added conditioner today to brink yo cya. Tested salt again and sitting at 2600 ppm so using pool math app I’m adding another two bags to hit target if 3200? I thought I read some higher at first though so should I add 3 bags? Last question FC is at a 3 today. Not turning on SWG...

Converting to salt tomorrow? Adjust target levels?

Yes I have that kit. I’ll test for salt in the morning before we add. Is there a formula to figure out how many bags of salt somewhere? I’m using the pool math app but I don’t see that option.

Converting to salt tomorrow? Adjust target levels?

Good to know! Pretty sure the pool guy that our builder sends over to turn on all the equipment was going to add salt and crank it on tomorrow. We will add salt brush and hold him off for a day.

Converting to salt tomorrow? Adjust target levels?

We are finally past our 30 day mark on the new plaster and they are turning on our SWG and adding salt tomorrow. I have been testing with the TF-100 pro kit and keeping our levels based on liquid chlorine and I noticed that the salt water ideal levels are pretty different. So my question is...

Got my TF pro kit and tested, now what?

I have downloaded the pool math app but have not input all my info since right now we are operating as a liquid chlorine pool. We can’t turn the salt system on for another week because of the new plaster. So I know I’m going to have to relearn everything then lol but I wanted to make sure we...

Safe to swim right after it rains?

I have been working on my getting my chlorine levels up, this morning added a gallon of chlorine and Acid. We had a quick rainfall about an hour ago but it passed quickly. The kids want to swim, is that generally ok or do I need to test or do anything or can I just add more chlorine tomorrow...

No chlorine after adding an entire gallon yesterday?? Help please

I think I’m also confused as to whether I actively shocked it or needed to? If the chlorine both free and total level was at a .6 this morning does it need to be “shocked” I’m still learning what that even means but I added a full gallon of chlorine to raise the total level but I think I would...

No chlorine after adding an entire gallon yesterday?? Help please

Okay thanks everyone. Ordered the good kit! Added the full gallon of chlorine about 5 hours ago and just retested. Ph is fine (for now) at 7.8 but chlorine was only at a 3 I was shooting for and expecting a 6 with the amount I added. Should I add more or wait and test again in the morning? Maybe...

No chlorine after adding an entire gallon yesterday?? Help please

Ok thank you so much j will order that kit for sure. So based on my pool math I’m trying to raise my Chlorine from .6 to around 7ppm, I would need to add about 100oz of liquid. Would you just add the whole jug (128 Oz) at this point or can I overdo it? Also how can I know if algae is a problem...
