    Another Intellicenter and Intelliflo Question

That wording is what was confusing me, it should not say "AND the pump is being told to run". In reality, the Pump/Filter relay will close if you are in Pool or Spa mode - regardless if the pump is running or not. For example, my pump was missing the Pool circuit, so no speed was set for Pool...

    Another Intellicenter and Intelliflo Question

Perhaps I'm missing a "Pump" cicruit. I'm seeing that referenced in other threads. Or is turning off all pump feature circuits (the various speeds) the same as turning the pump off? Currently the pump does stop when I turn off all the circuits, but is there some main pump on/off somewhere...

    Another Intellicenter and Intelliflo Question

Hello, Last year, my pool builder installed the Intellicenter and Intelliflo pump. The pump was wired up to the load side (not line side) of the first relay. I configured my schedules for cleaning to set the RPM as well as turn on the pool. Things worked, although it was a bit annoying when...

    Concrete Nightmare

New concrete contractor was out tonight and immediately recommended the deck drain. I'm a bit concerned about the one piece drain and not being able to repair or easily clean it. Any thing to lookout for or are they really hassle free? Looks like stegmier may have one with a removable face vs...

Stamped patio: Color Hardener vs Integral scratch

Hello, I've been reading some threads regarding color hardener (broadcasted powder) vs integral color. I'm concerned around scratches with color hardener exposing the gray concrete underneath. I know integral doesn't color the stones, so if the scratch is deep/big enough, it won't matter. My...

    Concrete Nightmare

Pool is about 16 feet away from the house. Another question, they are planning the 18" coping perimeter pour as a separate pour. Should there be an expansion joint with the foam stuff between that and the rest of the patio?

    Concrete Nightmare

Thanks. That makes sense. I'm thinking they forgot the drain on their original plan.

    Concrete Nightmare

Still trying to wrap my head around how this should be working. Adding a picture for some clarity hopefully. Let me know if any of the following are not true cantilever coping around the pool should be consistent reveal thickness - from lip of pool to top of coping should be a consistent 4"...

    Concrete Nightmare

Heard back from the pool sub and he confirmed the pool is not pitched in the middle with a slop like concrete sub is claiming. Also confirmed that was within level to less than 1/4" over the run. Now I'm questioning the concrete subs ability to measure anything. Going to go out tonight with a...

    Concrete Nightmare

Assuming everything was perfect, and they attach the forms correct (bottom of form aligns with top of pool) and pour that 18" perimeter completely level - how _should_ the slope be introduced on the surrounding patio. Its supposed to peak in the middle and run off. Do they just do the patio pour...

    Concrete Nightmare

Yeah, I think you are spot on. Forgot to mention that originally we were supposed to have a single step down from the house to patio, and that has now turned into two 6" steps. So something got off somewhere. Their explanation is measurements in the field are always tweaked a bit. Sure, but...

    Concrete Nightmare

My second question is the steps they poured. There is a profile on them with a stamped surface. They stamped the surface before pulling the forms or working the edges/face. The result is a sharp edge, uneven surface between the edge of the stamp and the face. Their solution is to grind it down...

    Concrete Nightmare

Starting a new thread from the original question about standard thickness of cantilever coping. Background Working with a hard scapes contractor to have a 16x40 inground fiberglass pool installed They sub-contracted out the pool, electrical, and concrete work Well know and reputable company...

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

Thanks, exactly what I was thinking in regards to first step height with 6" of concrete.

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

My guess is they sloped the forms with the expected slope of the patio. Rather than lining the bottom of the form consistently with the top of the pool lip. So as you go along the pool, the form goes further into the pool. Which resulted in the thin amount of concrete on the face of the pool...

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

The forms are definitely put on incorrectly. I spent 5 minutes on Google and found the installation manual. It's five steps and they did every one incorrectly. They even have a 3 minute YouTube video that shows how to do it. Hopefully all the concrete comes off without damaging anything else.

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

The plan is to remove all concrete and do it again. Hopefully without damaging the pool and hopefully with another concrete subcontractor. After looking at the 1 page installation instructions and the 3 minute YouTube video, they did each if the 5 steps wrong. Seems like a 4 inch form is more...

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

They said it would be between 4 and 6 inches. A variable range didn't make sense to me as the form is a single size. Turns out they didn't know what they were doing and we are left with a mess now. Should have asked what product they were using so I could have researched it. But was hoping not...

What is standard cantaleiver coping thickness over inground FG

We are mid process with a Latham synergy inground fiberglass pool. The pool is on the ground and full of water. Concrete keeps getting delayed. I was looking at their forms and current grading and asked them how thick the coping would be on top of the pool lip. They said 6 inches. Is this...

New build - diverter or ball valves

Thanks for the confirmation. I was thinking about that. If I lower the water below the skimmer and blow it out and put a gizmo in the skimmer, I should then be good to blow out drains and just close drain line off. Originally I was thinking I would blow both and shut off pump side, but that...

New build - diverter or ball valves

Inground pool is being built and I'm thinking about winterizing in a year before I've even been in for a swim. Currently there is a single diverter valve between the drain, skimmer and pump input. Most of the pictures I've looked at have a ball type valve used to air lock during winterization...

    Central Ohio PB Quote Feedback

Yeah, that's the part that worked out for me. My PB quoted 2600 for the iChlor30 installed. Seemed high to me. But said if I wanted to buy the combo he would install it. I didn't tell him what price I was buying it for. So in my case it was actually cheaper. I did upgrade the pump also, so in...

    Central Ohio PB Quote Feedback

I looked at the two a bit. In the end, for me, the cost was a bit closer due to the power center including the panel as well. I also liked that everything was in one box rather than adding the IC40 transformer, sub panel, and control box. I also liked the fact that there were some open local...
