    Do I need to Slam?

Ok so I have added 209 gal of water. Test results FC 16 CC 0 TA 125 CH 200 CYA 40 I am getting better circulation now. Water is 3/4 up on skimmer, was down to about half. I think the water looks clear other then the tree fuzz floating on top. I think I feel much better about leaving this for a...

Sorry CC 0. Pool is not sparkling. Also has quite a bit of the fuzz.

    Do I need to Slam?

Now I have decided I need to add more water to pool because I think maybe that is why my circulation is not the greatest. Although I have nothing really to compare to. So after I add water I will do a full test and see where I'm at. How long after I add water should I wait to test?

    Do I need to Slam?

My OCLT was at 1ppm this am. That was only over about 6 hours though. So I went ahead and bumped my FC to SLAM level after bringing my PH down to 7.4. I also brushed the pool and will vacuum when I get a chance before I leave today. Would you say I'm on the right track? Thanks for all the...

    Do I need to Slam?

Ok thanks. If that's the case I can do OCLT tonight and see where I'm at in the morning. I'm not planning until tomorrow afternoon. I can get the person checking to add chlorine when they come. How much would you recommend?

    Do I need to Slam?

Ok. The only problem is I am leaving for a week tomorrow. With someone checking house in 3 days. What would be the recommend thing to do? Should I bring it up to SLAM tonight?

Also do I cover the pool with my light blue solar cover when I'm gone? Or leave it open?
  9. S

    Do I need to Slam?

Yes I am aware of the OCLT just wondering if I should start SLAM before tonight or if it matters in the long run I guess? Also yes my filter is clean. Has the same pressure, 18 PSI as always. I am new to pools but this is the same pressure I've had since turning it on 2 weeks of ago.

    Do I need to Slam?

Hello. I have noticed my pool seems a bit cloudy when underwater today. Kids said it was like that yesterday as well. Test results this afternoon. FC 3.5 CC 0 PH 7.6 TA 120 CYA 50 I have also come to the realization (thanks to a different post on here) that I have been doing things wrong for the...

    Vacation

Hello again. I have noticed my pool seems a bit cloudy when underwater today. Kids said it was like that yesterday as well. There has been a lot of Poplar fuzz of the trees lately. Also when I vacuum the pool there doesn't seem to be a lot suction from the vac hooked to the skimmer. Wondering if...

Ok thanks. I don't know why I never thought of it like that before. Seem pretty simple now that I think about.

Now that I'm thinking about it I see that I should probably set my target FC to 8 and let it drop down to 5 everyday? Rather then dropping to 3?

Thanks for the info. Risky how? Chart says 6-8 @ 50CYA. Pool math app has recommended FC 6 so that is what I was going with? Should I bump it to 7?

Hello again. Just want to double check things. I just did another test. FC 2.2 CC .2 PH 7.2 TA 120 CYA 60 My PH has not changed at all. Just wondering if I should be trying to raise it? I just added 45oz of chlorine as per pool math. Everything else seems to be fine. Thanks

Yes I understand that. Do you think I just had an inaccurate TA reading? Yes I have added 42oz of chlorine as per pool math.

So I understand sand I just vacuum out later. I added 26 oz if chlorine and 2 lbs of stabilizer as per pool app. Second test results are as follows. FC 2.5 CC .5 PH 7.2 TA 100 CYA 60 CH 220 So TA went down and my PH stayed the same. Does this seem right?

Hello again. I turned on my pump once pool was full and some sand for inside the lines went on the pool. What should I do? Thanks

Right at the return line. I will wait and see what the PH does and add acid as needed. Will testing the water once a day be enough for this? I have not done a CH test as I have a vinyl pool so I didn't think I needed one?

Hello, I'm new to pool life and have been reading a lot. I just received my Taylor 2006 test kit and while filling my new pool I tested the water this morning. These are the results. FC 0.2 CC 0 TA 130 PH 7.2 CYA didn't test as it should be 0 So I will get the stabilizer dissolving in a sock...

Apparently it does have iron in it. So I have now decided to fill it with city water as the cost is actually not much.

Ok so the k 2006 is worth it. Do I need the extra reagents right away or will I have enough for this season? I also plan to fill the pool with good clear well water. Is this going to cause any problems?

Hello, I just added a 12' x 24' x 52" above ground Metal wall pool. It came with a Sta-lite 1hp pump, a sta-rite system 3 filter, Pool accessories (cover, vacuum, etc) and a bunch of chemicals. I have the pool installed, just waiting for the new liner to arrive this week. Working on the...
