Remote or auto drain for pool

So my pool was a renovation but it did not have an overflow drain. I’m worries about heavy rain which can cause overflow while away on vacation. I have all my equipment connected to easytouch system. Any ideas of how I can remotely drain water from the pool or perhaps a pump that I can leave on...

White flakes floating on water surface .

You may have a good point. When I shocked (liquid chlorine), the ph was at 7.8 and I realized the swg was still at 20%.

White flakes floating on water surface .

Opened my pool and after shocking it, I noticed white flakes floating around the water’s surface. Initially I tried to skim it with the net but particles are too small. Visited the pool store, and although pool levels were spot on, I was advised that it may be white water mold. Backwashed and...

Dropping water to skimmer level during rainstorms

But that would require that I break up the new paver patio and the concrete beneath it. Yes, I should have thought of this before I did that.

Dropping water to skimmer level during rainstorms

I travel a lot for work and pool remains on full automation; however, during two rain storms last season the water level almost overflowed which would likely have caused damage to pavers, liner, etc. Luckily I caught it on the camera and was able to get a family member to place the multiport...

Significant snowfall/freeze effects on solid pool cover pump

Thank you for your replies. I actually read through another thread here and someone recommended a heated water hose, which is normally used for potable water in RV’s during winter months. I connected it and it works great. Tip: loop it around the pump once or twice and it never allows ice to...

Significant snowfall/freeze effects on solid pool cover pump

Thanks for the info. I realized the issue was the actual hose the froze. I actually read on another forum about heated hoses with a thermostatic switch. Just ordered one. Let’s see if it helps.

Significant snowfall/freeze effects on solid pool cover pump

Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas. On how I can prevent the cover pump and hose from freezing when it snows over 12”. I’ve read about heater water hoses, but that still doesn’t solve the issue of the pump being completely covered by snow.

    Thermal Bluestone plank coping

My pool is a steel frame and after a full renovation we decided to go with a thermal edge bluestone coping for a more modern and clean look. The pool was built in the 90’s and so the walls aren’t perfectly straight. I had the PB put a 4ft rough concrete pour around the pool which will carry the...

    Sharkvac XL vs Nautillus CC

After a whole lot of reading and a bunch of stories about damaged liners with some robots, I feel like these two models are the most indicated for in-ground soft vinyl liner pools. What do you guys think? Sharkvac XL or Nautillus CC

Also, it appears I’m having DE media returning to the pool. Yesterday I cleaned out the filter cartridges, checked all the connectors, and the rubber gasket on the filter for damage and found nothing. Ran the pump overnight without reintroducing new DE and this is how it looks this morning.
