Removed all 4 cartridges - no change. Running on high speed at 5 psi and I can tell when I open the relief air valve on top of the filter housing that it's not blowing out water like it used to. Clogged return pipe(s) possibly? Any other things I should try? The last 3 weeks have been hel! down...

Hot tub is connected to the pool. Last few days, after using the hot tub, I noticed the waterfall from the hot tub to the pool that runs when pump is on high speed has looked weak. Cleaned baskets, cleaned filters, water level is good. Maybe a clog in a pipe from the skimmers to the pump? Also...

How did your system do? I ran the waterfall pump all night and the low speed on the main pump and so far everything looks fine.

Another trick I just learned - if you have old school christmas lights still out - run those around the pump/pipes and plug them in on a time. They won't get super hot but put out just enough heat to keep things from freezing.

Others smarter than me will chime in (hopefully). I'm in a similar situation this weekend (I'm in San Antonio). My waterfall pump is on it's own circuit and when freeze protection kicks on for the main pump, it does NOT kick on the waterfall pump. So my plan at this point is to just run it all...

Ok. Going to run it tomorrow for a little while without the carts. I also ordered 4 new ones. I know 2 of them were bought in 2019 but I don't know how old the other 2 are as we moved in during summer 2019.

Found these online: PA137 Unicel C-7490 Hayward C-5500 CX1380RE Filter - $49.76 They are about half the price from "normal" unicel filters I am looking at buying.

Jim - I said "Max" as it was at the Red arrow which is roughly 20 psi on my gauge. It was NOT at 50 psi. It used to be 10-15 psi. I'm going to order 4 new cartridges.

Low speed = 6 psi High speed = 20 psi

This may be a dumb question - but what should the normal PSI be? I have the manual but there is nothing in it. Just says the max is 50 psi.

Update: Needle goes to 0 when system is off. Took the cover off the filter housing and didn't see any debris at all. Removed the gauge and hit it with compressed air and didn't see anything noteworthy. Also checked my skimmer baskets and the device under them, all clear. Pipes inside the skimmer...

Cleaned the filters about 45 days ago. Cleaned out the plastic basket in the pump housing. Pressure still at the max. Water level in pool is normal. Is it time to buy new filters? They are approx 5 years old. Any suggestions?
