    Sheer Descent Help

I have had trouble getting in contact with the company who installed the sheer descent - but did find the model info. It's a CMP Natural Wonders 25577-430-900.

    Sheer Descent Help

Is there something that you recommend that will prevent cracking? If a thin stainless steel plate - as mentioned above - is placed on top of the sheer descent, would that do the trick?

    Sheer Descent Help

I'll see if I can find out which model was used - but I doubt I will get that info. Unfortunately, I don't see any markings on the sheer descent except for a few labels that DO NOT have the mfg's info nor model number. UGH!!!

    Sheer Descent Help

Thanks for the quick reply!! I'm not sure which model it is. So hydraulic cement to fill in around the pipes. Then after it cures, use Type S mortar to secure the bluestone. Should mortar be used in between the sheer descent and the bluestone? Yes - that dog statue always ends up...

Help - Bad Motor on Pentair CHII-N1-1-1/2F

I'm looking at a Century B2858 ($280) which was recommended by INYO pool as the replacement. I see that they offer dual speed B2983 for $354 + $45 for the toggle switch and canopy. Is it worth the extra $ going the variable speed route?

This is my 3rd season owning a pool in Maryland. I'm the 3rd owner - not sure of the pump's age but the motor is making very strange noises so I shut her down. (n) Does anyone have info on rebuild parts/video? I've never done this before so I would need direction. If I decide to purchase a...

Few Questions From a Rookie in Maryland

Love it!! Between coaching my son's baseball team, watching the Capitals win the Stanley Cup, roasting a pig, yard work, and cooler rainy days, my job as the pool boy has had to take a backseat recently - LOL!!! I'm all loaded up with 8 bottles of Walmart's finest chlorine bleach! Picking up...

    2018 Bleach Prices

Having trouble finding decent prices in Maryland - specifically, Montgomery/Frederick County. The best I've seen so far is Walmart's Chlorinating Liquid in their pool section. 128 FL OZ at 10% for $3.67 which is $0.287 per FL OZ. Anyone seen better in the area?

Few Questions From a Rookie in Maryland

Thanks - but I shouldn't add chemicals to adjust pH until my pump is running...correct? That's probably a dumb question but since I'm new to this, figured I'd throw it out there. :p

Few Questions From a Rookie in Maryland

Thanks! The Taylor K-2006C kit arrived yesterday. I feel like I'll need to wear a white lab coat when I'm working up the concoctions - haha!! I'm about 2 or 3 days away from receiving my pump rebuild kit. Should I wait to test the water until my pump is back up and running - or is there an...

Few Questions From a Rookie in Maryland

Thanks for the info, Texas Splash! The new water test kit and pump rebuild kit are both on their way! I took the pump apart today and noticed a very corroded area around the motor shaft after I took off the seal plate. There was a thin flat gasket around the shaft - but again, much corrosion...

Few Questions From a Rookie in Maryland

Bought a home with a pool - first season owner. My pump (Pentair CHII-NI-1-1/2F) appears to have a few leaks. In the picture below, I have a pretty decent leak. I also have a much slower leak that appears to be coming from a bolt from the opposite side of the pump. Couldn't insert the...

Hello from Maryland (New Owner of Used Pool)

Thanks, Texas Splash! I have yet to test the water since there's no circulation at this point. I've been reading up on the ABCs, SLAM and the recommended levels and chemicals. Fingers crossed and looking forward to being a part of this community!!
