Help - Bad Motor on Pentair CHII-N1-1-1/2F

This is my 3rd season owning a pool in Maryland. I'm the 3rd owner - not sure of the pump's age but the motor is making very strange noises so I shut her down.

1. Does anyone have info on rebuild parts/video? I've never done this before so I would need direction.
2. If I decide to purchase a new motor, what do you recommend? Last season, I replaced all o-rings/gaskets on pump.

I'm looking at a Century B2858 ($280) which was recommended by INYO pool as the replacement. I see that they offer dual speed B2983 for $354 + $45 for the toggle switch and canopy. Is it worth the extra $ going the variable speed route?
