    Hayward App Login Problem

Anyone else having a problem logging into the Hayward Omnilogic app on your smartphone? Since the firmware update, everything went to heck... Automation isn't working anymore and now I can't login to the app.

First Time Pool Owner (Houston Pool Build)

Regarding the pH rising, my pool was finished about the same time as the OP, and my pH also rises from 7.3 to 8 every week or 10 days. I figured it's my plaster still sloooowly curing.

Let the wild rumpus start! (new Houston build underway)

That's exactly it.. I have some white patches and brown patches as well. I went under water and observed them very closely, and the brown spots randomly had more brown stones showing. If you keep brushing, those "plaster creams(?)/more intense blue spots" will go away gradually.

Cost to build a pool in Katy/Houston Area?

I totally agree. My PB also thanked me multiple times for catching their mistakes, and saving them from huge headaches and cost of fixing them... Unfortunately, these things will happen, and you have to wear an inspector hat. After all, it's your pool.

Let the wild rumpus start! (new Houston build underway)

WOW, that was one long drawn out plaster color reveal! You won't regret it. My Aqua blue plaster is now 3 months old, and it's still changing color (getting lighter verrrry slowly).

New Pool build in Katy/Fulshear Texas. Welcome any advice or suggestions.

If it were me, I would literally cut out 2/3 or more of the sun deck and turn it into a swimming area.

New Pool build in Katy/Fulshear Texas. Welcome any advice or suggestions.

Hi neighbor! I am just east side of 1463. Seems like you've done your homework. Everything looks great! I have a few feedback for you. 1. I would suggest a robot. My neighbor has a polaris vacuum and I dislike all those hoses just hanging out in the pool. I have Maytronics S300, and it's...

    Building new pool in Houston,TX

Do you have more detailed information such as how many returns, skimmers, main drains, equipment list, etc? I recently finished building mine, and caught quite many problems and dealt with many mistakes made by PB. I documented everything in my build thread (link in my sig). It was my first...

Understanding OmniLogic control of TCell 15

Bringing this thread from the dead. I was wondering about the exact same thing over last weekend, and found the answer here. My SWCG is always "On", and it will only turn on when the pump runs regardless of what SWCG schedule I setup. Seems like SWCG schedule is useless, and SWCG is solely...

New Pool Build in Fulshear - Houston TX Area

I am no expert, but I believe cool deck is also some sort of concrete/plaster, so I don't see why not. One thing I should forewarn you is that cool deck texture will have lots of high and low spots, so even with a good gradient those low spots will trap water and dirt. Generally, cool deck will...

New pool deck - size recommendations

I was quite surprised to learn that most of the loungers are at least 6’ long. I think the average is about 6’5”. So, if you add 4’ (walk way) to the length of the lounger, you would need about 10’ for the lounger and a walk way. One way to reduce that is by orienting loungers diagonally.

I second Kim. Highlight the copings by selecting darker cool deck color. That looks classier I think.

    Finally Done!!

Wow, You and your PB did a great job maximizing all the spaces around the pool. Your outdoor kitchen setup and the orientation is inspiring me to do something about the 5' utility easement space I have on the side of the deck... HMM... :D

    Critique My Design

HAHA! Yes, yes. My suggestion would block the view of the pool. Pure design sense and the practicality and safety are world apart sometimes. ;)

    Critique My Design

This is just a suggestion, but seems like your house is very symmetrical. Perhaps, symmetrical pool design might look better with the house. Have you thought about putting the spa in the middle closer to the house? For skimmer location, figure out if wind blows in one direction consistently in...

Rate of pH rise since the converting pool to SWCG

Thank you for your insight! You are right, I read it from Wikipedia. LOL I wonder if the SWCG bubbles are causing the faster pH rise. Weather has been colder and breezier.. Perhaps the wind? I plan to invest on a pH sensor and the CO2 gas tank actuator in the future for pH balancing...

    Tile Imperfections??

I see what you mean by "offset" tiles.. You are right. You might be stuck with miter joint if you don't want the partial tiles along the edges, but that miter joint isn't too impressive. At least make the miter line straight... That infinite edge spill way is somewhat of the focal point of...

Rate of pH rise since the converting pool to SWCG

Hi guys, It has been about two weeks since I dumped bunch of salt in the pool, and turned on the SWCG. I am still trying to figure out the SWCG running schedule to get a stable level of FC. It's harder than I thought especially during the seasonal change in Texas. One thing I have noticed...

    Tile Imperfections??

My tiler didn't cut the 1X1 tiles in 45 degree angle at all. I was quite surprised to see it, but it worked out well. Sorry, I don't have a close up picture. Only thing is if you do this, grout lines from the top surface to one of the side of the walls will not match as you can see below. It...

Let the wild rumpus start! (new Houston build underway)

Hi there, I had the same dilemma 3 months ago, so I'll chime in on Pebble Sheen colors. Just like you, I wanted very light plaster color. Actually, I decided to go with Cool Blue or Arctic White several times. I even thought about adding blue glass beads to them to make them more blue, but in...

New Pool Build in Fulshear - Houston TX Area

Oh I see. I see you got the Paramount Ozone and UV system. I initially included the exactly the same model, but I decided against it after doing some research mainly because I wanted to K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple..). Tell us how you like the system after using it for awhile.

New build - Katy, TX (near Houston)

Thanks for the input! Yeah, I was kind of bummed about Hayward's SWCG control functions/smart phone app. It's very basic. Does other brand's SWCG controller offer such fine tuning capabilities? I have a Rachio irrigation controller, and it's exactly what I would envision the smart SWCG...

New Pool Build in Fulshear - Houston TX Area

Yeah, it might be a tight fit, but I see a spot where a plumber can snake around the pipes to fit in a SWCG right before the valve right side of the chlorine puck dispenser. It won't be pretty, but plumbers get creative with PVC pipes.. LOL... But I gotta say, your equipment pad seems quite...

New build - Katy, TX (near Houston)

Quick update. Hayward tech came out the next day, and he had to reinstall the Omnilogic's operating system. Apparently, it's a well known bug in their world. Anyways, SWCG is up and running, and the first average salt PPM reading I got was 2,800 PPM. I initially put in 6 bags. Then, I had a...

New build - Katy, TX (near Houston)

Today is the day I convert my pool to salt water pool! To prep for the conversion, I got 10 bags of 40lbs salt from Home Depot. I ran the robot for 3 hours in the morning. Then, balanced CYA (70), CH (350), TA (80), FC (6), and pH (7.4). Online salt calculator tells me I will need 9 bags...

New pool build in Round Rock Texas

Hi there, One thing that catches my eyes is the Oncommend control panel with a remote. For pool equipment controls and automations, Hayward Omnilogic is the brightest and the newest one that you can go within Hayward brand. It doesn’t come with a remote controller, but it enables you to...

Help me pick a decking material!

I walked around barefoot on my travertine deck on 97+F days in Katy, TX quite frequently. It's not hot whatsoever. My deck gets full sun from 6:30AM to 7PM at night. One thing to remember is that darker travertine tiles will retain more heat than ivory one I have. Are you going to use that...

New Pool Build in Fulshear - Houston TX Area

UGH... Seems like your PB just used his regular workers to apply decorative tiles, instead of hiring a proper tiling sub... That's what happened with me. After I complained about the initial quality, PB hired a tiler. Maybe you have the same PB as me...
