    Old main drain cover missing

Thanks for the advice, I am going to get some ear plugs and better goggles and try to get a better look at this thing. I've been turning off the pump before anyone goes in.

    Old main drain cover missing

It'll be a challenge but I think I can do it. How do they attach?

    Old main drain cover missing

The main drain cover on my inground pool from the 1960s was missing when we bought the house. Pretty sure there's no screw holes. Is there a product that will fit on this? It's 9 feet down there so it'll be a challenge unless I end up draining the pool which I'm trying to avoid. That's a ball...

    Hayward H250FDN IF code

So I loosened the cover on the igniter and it fired up. If I tighten the cover it shuts off. Go figure something silly like that can cause this.

    Hayward H250FDN IF code

Best guess is he is too busy for a small job most of the companies are completely booked for the summer or don't work on heaters and there's no Hayward certified technicians in the area. He checked all the parts and burners, he was here quite a while twice and couldn't figure it out. It's only 3...

I took the vents off and cleaned it this morning it wasn't that bad.

    Hayward H250FDN IF code

Heater fires up and sounds like it's running for a few seconds, it blows out heat, then it cycles and tries again. Had a pro out he swapped out the flame sensor. He said the ignitor and gas exchanger were fine. I got it to run one time after about 10 tries of it firing up and it ran the entire...

    Hayward Heater smell

I just had this problem. I thought it was gas, but it was actually something being burned. I had tiny seeds from a bush nearby that went through the vents and got into the heat exchanger. I took the heater apart and used a bristle head on the vacuum and got them all out. There's a lot of...

Gunite resurfacing, tiling, and concrete repair cost.

I have this old gunite pool from the 60s, no leaks, new equipment, but it needs some work. The pool is estimated to be around 30,000 gallons. The pool to me looks like it popped up, supposedly the last owner hadn't opened the pool for a 10 year stretch and might have had it drained. There's...

Hayward H250FDN leaking CO and aldehyde

Found the culprit these little seeds were getting blown off the bush near the heater and made it through the grates of heat exchanger. There was a whole bunch i got in there with a vacuum with bristles and got it working. Smell is gone.

Hayward H250FDN leaking CO and aldehyde

Heater located in a corner outside near the house. I had a professional company install it, the only problem is they aren't repair techs and I'm having a hard time finding an authorized tech to come take a look since it's still under warranty. I never could smell anything before firing it up...

Hayward H250FDN leaking CO and aldehyde

2 year old heater I thought was leaking natural gas is actually leaking unsafe levels of carbon monoxide and the odor is aldehyde. The gas company had to disconnect it. The good thing is that it's outside, but it's close to the house and patio. Any ideas? I had a pool guy out he didn't know...

    Milky white after phosphate remover

I have a 30,000 gallon gunite inground pool that had some pool chemistry issues that I typically don't have. The past few days I had to shock the pool, raise the alkalinity, lower the pH, add calcium, and add chlorine stabilizer. I had my water tested again when it was almost clear and had 3300...

Green pool shocked -> recurring brown algae

Yeah hopefully that's all I will need. I had no prior pool experience until we bought our house 3 years ago and honestly didn't realize the pool was 30,000 gallons because it was covered when we bought the house, so I have always tried to do what I can not to drain the thing because it is a lot...

Green pool shocked -> recurring brown algae

You guys seem very knowledgable and I was hoping you could help me with this one. Over 4th of July I was out of town and came home to a dark green pool. I shocked it twice and got rid of the cloudiness which took a week of running the pump constantly. Since then I have a recurring algae...
