    Will this filter work?

Hey all, My cartridge filter finally blew out. It was a no name brand that is original to the pool, the relief valve was epoxied on, and the cartridges were ready to be replaced anyway, so it's been beyond time to replace. I'm set on using cartridge again. However, I HATE the large 4 cartridge...

    Questions for VS pump newb

Lots of great advice. I do have my SWG wired on currently, so it makes sense to run the pump 24/7, at least until I get it wired up on the timer. After some tinkering, I learned 1250 runs at 150W, is enough to keep the SWG on, and circulates the pool. It's also Whistler quiet, so that's the...

    Questions for VS pump newb

You are probably right. Im probably overthinking. As far as heat goes though, would you go minimum rpm on that, as well?

    Questions for VS pump newb

Hey all, looking for advice for programming my new intelliflo pump. First, I tried running at 750 rpm (after cleaning filters) and see very little flow. Not enough to activate the SWG, and not enough to skim. I am now running 1500 rpm for 14 hours, which activates the SWG and keeps the top of...

Programming intelliflo to be overridden by solartouch

Hi all. I got my new pump and controller in, but operating them seems more complicated than installing them, Haha. I have a 18000 gal pool. I set the pump schedule to use speed 5 (1250 rpm) from 6pm to noon, just to keep the water circulating. I set it to use speed 6 (2100 rpm) from noon to 6...

Need help with Installing pentair solartouch.

Looking closer, it appears the two black wires come in from the timer, and the two red wires go back out to different terminals on the timer. So my hunch is, the two labeled black in and black out should be wired to one terminal on the solar touch, and likewise with the red in and red out?

Need help with Installing pentair solartouch.

Hi all. Getting ready to install my new solar controller. The new solar touch appears to have 2 inputs. My old controller has a bunch of wires. Anyone know which of these wires should go where?

Pool pump install: here goes nuhtn

It's a fiberglass pool. On the deep end, it has a few jets. I can switch from the normal inlets, jets, or water feature by turning a few valves

Pool pump install: here goes nuhtn

Cool thanks! When I do, I'll have to come on here and find out what some of these pipes even are. Like that tall capped pipe on the left... no idea what that even is or why it needs to be 5 feet tall, Haha.

Pool pump install: here goes nuhtn

Here is a wider view. You can still easily walk along side the pump to see the panel. Like I mentioned above, electrical intimidates me a bit, so for today, moving the pump was easier. Once I gain a little more confidence with this project, I may repipe, rewire and reorient everything at the...

Pool pump install: here goes nuhtn

Not sure what a dwv fitting is. The sign at lowes said "schedule 40 pool sweep". Sounded like the right thing after the pool guy made a big deal about the 90's. I'll happily take them back if they aren't correct, as they were $5.50 each. On that long loop, should I trim it? Installation guide...

Pool pump install: here goes nuhtn

Wires were short, so I had to change the orientation of the pump... and in doing so, ran out of pipe. Here's half, anyway. Just dry fit for now. Look ok?

Are 90 degree fittings that bad?

Earlier I posted asking if I should use rigid pipe or flex. I got a resounding rigid. Another question: so the reason my pool guy quoted 450 dollars supposedly is because the pipes needed to be redone. The current pump has a 90 degree fitting right out of the top, followed by another 90, and...

What should i pipe pump install with?

Great, thanks for the advice. Sounds like rigid pipe. Pump is very similar in orientation to the pump being replaced, so I agree, little to plumb. Thanks!

What should i pipe pump install with?

Hi, bought a intelliflo pump and had a pool guy come out to quote an install. He wants 450 bucks. So in other words, im doing the install. I bought the unions for the pump. Thinking for this short run of pipe, flexible PVC should be ok? If so, is that something I can buy at HD? Can I use...
