    New pump recommendation

The Hayward I have now is rated at 2HP. Any plug it type timer is rated for use with 1HP pumps max. Hayward has a bolt on timer for their pumps but can only be set to run for 6/12/18/24hr run times and you have to set it AT the time you want it to go on. For example, if I want the pump to...

    New pump recommendation

I ordered a 1HP Hayward Matrix 2 speed . I hope it's enough. Thanks for your help. One plus, ill have real timer for a change since its just 1 HP. I can ditch the Hayward 6/12/24 timer.

    New pump recommendation

So how does the Hayward 2 speed work? If I run for 12hrs (I do this so the heater can come on during the day, it is over kill for clean water) does it switch between speed? Is it always on one speed until its manually switched?

    New pump recommendation

I have an above ground 27', 17,500 gallon. Ther is only about 6-8 feet of head of 1.5" hose from the skimmer to the pump' then to the Hayward 150 Voyager cartridge filer, then heater, then return. The current pump is Hayward SP1520Z1EFTC, 2.0 HP, SF is SPL. I have heard this is an uprated...

    Help identifying pump specs

I would like to get a timer that is a little more robust than the one that comes with the pump. Nobody makes a timer where I can just plug the pump into it. Most plug in type timers have a max horse power rating of 1.5 max.

    Help identifying pump specs

AMPS says 15.0, nothing that says FLA. I have attached a pic of the plate. Im guesing this is a SF of .75 giving it a THP of 1.5. Would like to confirm though.

    Help identifying pump specs

Hello, I have been researching for a possible lower energy replacement pump. The one I have was purchased as part of a package for our above ground pool. Its a 27' round AGP. The pump is a Hayward SP1520Z1EFTC, HP 2.0, SF SPL. What I would like to know is the service factor so I can see...

    Small Algae Problem w/SWG

It passed OCLT. At this rate though, it will be several days before FC drops back to a swimmable level. Thanks for your help. slange316

    Small Algae Problem w/SWG

It has been rather windy hear so I am getting a lot of Crud blowing into the pool. I feel the OCLT would not be totally reliable so I have been testing CC. After the first 24hrs, CC=0. It was up to .5 or less after 48hrs.

    Small Algae Problem w/SWG

This is my first year with a SWG. It has been perfect. I live in the west burbs of Chicago. When the weather got cooler last weekend and less people in the pool, I thought it would be a good idea to turn down (from what I had set for the summer) the SWG from 20% to 10% and cut the pump time...

Rust on Stainless service panel after SWG installed

CYA is high at 100, FC is 4.5, CC .5, PH 7.5. I have not tested TA and CH this week. Salt is 3500ppm I live in the west Chicago suburbs. The service panel is on the SW side of the pool. We have had pretty hot, dry weather the last 3 weeks. I was using trichlor until the SWG went in. I...

Rust on Stainless service panel after SWG installed

27" round, AGP, 2nd full summer. I put in a SWG 3 weeks and noticed on my stainless steel service panel, very small rust spots, all over it. They look like rusty blemishes, very much surface rust at this point. After watching it for a week, they are getting bigger. I am afraid that in...

Does your pool need to be bonded to add a SWG?

Does Home Depot commonly sell these things?

Does your pool need to be bonded to add a SWG?

Does the bonding wire need to run in a loop? I added a SWG and wanted to just run a bonding wire to the existing bonding loop which is AGP-->heater-->pump.

New to SWG, what to do about .5 CC

What is the "superchlorinate" function of the SWG used for?

New to SWG, what to do about .5 CC

What do you do when CC are more than .5 or 1 and you have a SWG?

New to SWG, what to do about .5 CC

I just tested my water. FC is around 5.5 and CC .5. All other level in perfect range. Since I am new to using a SWG, what do you do when you get .5 or higher CC? Superchlorinate? Run higher % output for a few hours??

    Super chlorinating

    Thanks Jason.

    Super chlorinating

I love my new SWG. Had a swim party yesterday, about 10-12 people int he pool. All levels are ok, FC is 7, water is a bit cloudy but running filter now. I have read many places that you should super chlorinate after rain, lots of swimmers but do you really need to if FC is ok?

Can adding salt bring CL to 0.0

I had to add some more salt this morning so this time I dumped about 30 pounds in to a 5 gal bucket and mixed with pool water. Then, dumped that mixture into one of those mesh lounge floats and let it float around the pool so I could "filter" out anything that would not disolve, and sure...

    Any ideas for mounting?

How do you get the 4x4 into the ground? Dig, then fill with quickset? I have a lot of room on my paver equipment pad. I would love to find something that is heavily weighted at the bottom and has a 2-3 post in it, and I can just set on the pad.

    Any ideas for mounting?

I'm in the same boat. I have a perfect mounting spot on one of the legs of my aluminium deck but it is further than the 6' cord my Circupool has. I guess I will have to pound in a post. Hope I dont hit my gas line.

Can adding salt bring CL to 0.0

I also noticed that after adding all that salt, I have what appear to be hundreds of little white rocks on the bottom of my pool now. I assumed they were undisolved salt but when I got them out, they look and feel like small rocks. Has anybody every seen this? Could there have been some rocks...

Can adding salt bring CL to 0.0

I guess it is just a strange coincidence. I think what has happend is I have been adding CL via a feeder all summer and able to keep up with demand. The last 2 days, I add liquid at night but not feed through out the day and could not keep up with demand.
