    DE filter clean question

Hi all, I am planning on cleaning my DE4820 filter. The Hayward instructions specifically say not to lubricate the seal but in all the online directions/youtube videos, etc..., everyone always puts some sort of lubrication on the seal. I'll take a pic of the Hayward instructions and attach...

Is warranty worth it to buy a VS Pump directly from a dealer?

I struggled with this as well. I also struggled with going VS or Single speed. I ended up buying a single speed online from Amazon. It was way cheaper than anything I could get. Installation wasn’t bad at all. The main reason I didn’t go VS was the pinch a penny by my house told me they have...

    Timer not working

So here is the model number I think - T1202m1. I can’t seem to find that anywhere but to me it looks like the T104 will work. Can anyone confirm? They seem to carry it in the the big box stores so I can try it to make sure I guess, but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure. Thanks, Greg

    Timer not working

Enclosure says any Intermatic T100m clock will work. The one in amazon looks like it would work but it is a T104m. Is that just a newer version? I’ll make sure I keep my feet wet to cool me off in case I get burnt changing out the wires. ?. Just kidding. I’ll make sure breakers are all...

    Timer not working

Hi all, Intermatic timer isn’t working...when I look at the gears in back half move and half don’t - which I find odd - but I don’t know a lot about these. Time to replace it can that be fixed? Thanks, Greg

Hi all, My Heatpro 11002 still works, but the side entire side guard/coil piece that surrounds it has detiorated so bad that it crumbles to the touch. Even the front control panel has nothing tonreal screw into anymore. Unit is almost 10 years old. Can those be replaced and is it cost...

    Best option for plumbing

No winterizing in fLA. Maybe I’ll take it apart and lube it up tomorrow if you think it needs to be done

    Best option for plumbing

Thanks! So after a week there are no leaks and everything is running fine. It dawned on me though - I didn’t put any lube on the unions at all - not the o-rings on the part that screws into the pump nor the gasket beeedn both sides where the unions screw together. There are no leaks at all...

    Best option for plumbing

It’s in and everything seems to work. I used regular pvc glue with purple primer - the 2 pack you can get at HD for about $10. The Jandy Valve is pvc. I called Jandy and they said the majority sold are pvc valves. I called the original pool builder and he confirmed it was pvc. I glued the...

    Best option for plumbing

Need to replace the pump. It is dying. Bought a Super II with unions off Amazon and it should come tomorrow along with some pvc fittings including the 2.5” coupling and reducer bushing. I have Oatey purple primer at home but I need to figure out which pvc cement to get. Jandy recommends CVPC...

    Best option for plumbing

Thanks. I have purple primer but I need to get some glue for the project. Any particular brand/strength better than another considering I have to use it on the valve and need to buy some anyway?

    Best option for plumbing

I'll attach some pics. When I was researching a while back someone suggested using a 2.5" coupling over the Jandy Valve with a reducer bushing. SOmeone else recently suggested using a pipe extender inside the pipe. Either way I have to cut it off right at the valve. I am not sure which is...

    Best option for plumbing

Hi all, I have two options for replumbing for my Pump. I can either cut off the plumbing coming out of the Jandy valve and put a 2.5” coupling with a 2” bushing on - or - I can cut it off in the same spot and put a pipe extender fitting in the pipe. Which is better for flow or does it matter...

    Pump bearings going

Hi guys, Pump finally died. I just need confirmation on a few things if you don't mind. Going to go with the Hayward SP3010X15Az Super II 1.5 - On Amazon for about $450, which is more than $150 less than any place I can find it around here. Here are my questions: 1. Can someone tell me...

    Pump bearings going

Thanks! That's great! Looking at the Superpump VS - a few questions: 1) I have 2" piping but this has 1 1/2" ports I think. What's the best way to handle that? Which unions would I need for this pump? 2) Price on Amazon is around $811. From what I have read there is no warranty when...

Lol! Well I guess that makes sense. I was thinking there was a place online that was preferred. Checked amazon a a few places but couldn’t find them - overthinking it! Thanks!

    Pump bearings going

Thanks. I'm just not sure it is worth the extra money in the long run. Not sure how fast it has to go for heater and SWG and pool vac to work. I'll have to think on that. On a separate note - the piping is so tight that I think I am going to need to cut the 2" pipe between the jandy valve...

    Pump bearings going

Unfortunately there are no rebates available. I am not sure if it is cost effective to get a VS if I need to add automation for the swg or heater or anything else. Any recommendations? Super pump? Super 2? ( 2 inch pipes) Thanks, Greg

    Pump bearings going

Hi all, You guys helped me fix my pump motor last year - it needed a new start capacitor. Now the bearings are starting to go. I've been told it has anywhere from 6 months to a year left, but....I have a decision to make as far as what to do with it. Pool was built in 2009. Haywood...

    Alkalinity

Hi all, Pool was redone last year -it is about 1 year since we went to a pebble finish. My alkalinity likes to stay around 60 - which I understand to be a little low, but not too terrible. I just want to confirm that it is ok. I have a chlorine generator, so I am used to putting in acid...

    Big differences

Hi all, I bought a Taylor 2006 kit and have been doing my own water testing now for about 10 months. My salt cell died so I brought it in to get tested. WHile I was there I had the water tested as well and I had just tested it before I left the house. There are large differences between my...
