Been the summer of chasing issues Looking for input and guidance

But if the filter isn't trapping dirt and just sending it back, doesn't that contribute to the dirty pool/algae issue?

Been the summer of chasing issues Looking for input and guidance

Been the summer of chasing issues Looking for input and guidance

I just couldn't get ahead of the algae in the pool. Chemicals got balanced, but there was still algae, and what is worse was when I vacuumed it was returning to the pool from the return. Reading on here, I decided to check out if channeling was happening inside the sand filter. All heck broke...

How do I get algae on floor and ladder when chlorine level is too high?

If i don't run filter for 24 hours there is a green hue all over the bottom of pool and on the ladder mat. When I check my chemicals the chlorine level is high. Yes, I use the strips but I also have the HTH system with the drops. My alkalinity is high, Ph is normal, my hardness needs some...

    Replaced the water return. Question

its so very slightly angled. I did unscrew it after this picture to turn it to a better direction. But it still pretty much goes out straight. And now the pool is full.

    Replaced the water return. Question

Hi, 24' round 4' above ground I always had a light feature that was with the water return. The light stopped working a few years ago, so this year I decided to swap out the part and use the one that came with my skimmer box from a few years ago. The light/return sat flush to the side of round...

The cable has striped and the winch is clumsy. Is there a brand that you've had good success with?

Be careful, bungie cords deteriorate quickly when exposed to water.

    New AG owner with issues.

Pools don't settle with dents and holes unless they were prepped improperly.

    Losing pressure

I did a really long backwash with fresh water into skimmer. The pressure into pool now seems to be holding steady and strong. Thank you. Hopefully issue is cleared.

    Losing pressure

Haven't added anything but chloride this season. Filter is from 2001 and have not done anything special to it other than regular pool stuff.

    Losing pressure

Sand filter The PSI holds fairly steady while the return to pool pressure lessens. I put my hand in pool and feel how hard the pressure it. When I turn filter on the flow is powerful, then it lessens, all while filter PSI stays same. I've tapped gauge, and it's stays.

    Losing pressure

Hi. Pressure says 12-15. It does change when I turn filter off or try to vacuum. Am I answering what you are asking?

    Losing pressure

Algae? Hmm. Been slowly working on getting pool ready for season. I've been vacuuming mainly on waste. Didn't run chemistry yet. Was more concerned with lack of pressure. Chlorine has been added.

    Losing pressure

24' AG round. When filter is initially turned on the return pressure in pool is fabulous. Shortly after it loses it's punch. Gauge says still 12-15 psi. But definitely not pushing water into pool at that. It moves water, but not strong. I've tightened all connections. Siliconed the hose ends...

My knowledge of wiring is quite limited. Until I am able to get someone to rewire the plug for me, which is the better solution? A three prong to twist adapter or running the extension cord? Thank you for you help.

    Twist lock 3 prong

Had to replace pump and motor for above ground pool. (Did it myself :)) Former motor was powered with the twist lock. New Haywood 1HP does not come standard with twist, only 3-prong. Currently using a 12/3 25' extension cord to power the filter motor. (Only 10' away). My question is...
