    Pentair Warrior SE trouble

The other day my pentair warrior SE would not power on. I opened the power supply for it and found a fused on the circuit board was blown. I also found that transistor U5 was blown (had a hole in it). I did not see any other damage, not sure what caused it. Anyone know the value for U5?

    Kreepy Krauly not moving

I inherited my kreepy krawly with my house and pool and when I first tried mine about 2 yrs ago, it would not move either. It ended up being the "flapper" (pie wedge shaped rubber/plastic piece that moves back and forth). That's the only moving piece in the kreepy, and does wear down. It has...

Cover off, water MUCH lower than expected

Mine was the same way, maybe a little lower. As soon as it's warm enough, I'm going to have to get in the pool and look for a hole/tear in the liner. That's my first guess as to the cause, a very small leak.

Some questions on plumbing in a replacement pump

Was hoping to get the pump going last night, but could NOT get the pump outlet union to stop leaking where it threads into the top of the pump. The pump came with two unions from Harris. They fit a little loose. I tried teflon tape, and then switched to pipe dope, would not stop leaking...

Wiring so swg isn't on when pump isn't running

I'm replacing my single speed pump with a harris 3hp vsp (upgrading from a 1hp), and installing a circupool rj45+ so I can stop by chlorine. I'm keeping everything 220v. I've read on here that you don't want the swg to run when the pump isn't running for safety reasons. The swg has the flow...

Some questions on plumbing in a replacement pump

Thank you all for your suggestions. Hoping to have a break in the rain today to work on this and I'll post some pictures of what I end up doing.

Some questions on plumbing in a replacement pump

I'm going to replace my hayward 1hp pump with a harris vsp 3hp for the VS benefits and lower electrical bills (hopefully). I'm also installing a circupool rj45+ swcg. The hayward pump came with the pool and previous owner did not use any unions or threaded fittings, and I had to fix a leak...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

I did the AA treatment on Sunday. I started with 2.5 lbs, waited about 1 hour and noticed very little change. Added another 2.5 lbs, and after another 30 minutes, all but the darkest stains were gone. I let it sit over night, and the next morning, crystal clear! I've since dumped 6" of...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

I've ordered 5lbs ascorbic acid, should arrive next week. Local pool store could not test iron, out of tests, maybe in a week or two. Not my day today! But, I'm sure the pool water has iron, unless something else reacts to vitamin c? No iron stains in the house, so tap water is probably...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

We’re on public sewer, not sure about the clean out, will have to look. The back yard is 1 acre with the pool near the far end. No iron staining anywhere in the house, I doubt the tap water has iron. The white areas are where we dropped in some vitamin c tablets randomly. You'll also see a...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

I'm on city water, not well water. I'll take a sample of my pool water and the tap water in for testing as soon as I can. I'm thinking with all of the rain we had in Jan/Feb, maybe runoff caused the high iron? My biggest concern with draining 1/2-3/4 of the pool is the potential flooding...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

I confirmed the stains (pretty much all of the liner and stairs below the water line) are iron - used a vitamin c tablet in several spots, immediately took the stains off. Now need to figure out how to treat the entire pool for it.

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

I removed all of the leaves, ran the vacuum to waste (removed approximately 4-5" of water), refilled from the hose, and these are the test results as of 5/6 @ 4:30pm FC: 21.5 CC: 1.0 pH: 7.2 TA: 70 CH: 125 CYA: 100 (definitely over 100) BOR: 15 Temp: 72.8F CSI: -1.10 So, readings are all good...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

The pH of 6.2 was from the digital meter from tftestkits. I re-tested everything last night (in the interim I had added another 1 gallon of bleach, one 4lb box of borax, and continued cleaning leaves from the bottom). So, as of 6pm last night: Temp: 70.7F pH: 6.8 (from the test kit this...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

Thanks everyone for the replies and information. I do have the TF-100 now, and used it last night: FC: 6.5 pH: 6.2 TA: 70 CH: 100 (or greater, hard to tell) CYA: 100 CSI: -2.08 BOR: 0 as near as I can read Water temp was ~65F I'm continuing to backwash, add DE, and will probably need to add...

new pool owner, questions on pump pressure

We bought a house with an existing in ground pool, 36'x16'x6' at the deep end, so approximately 18k gallons. The pool cover did not cover the built-in stairs end, so it was full of leaves and tree debris, and when we uncovered it to open it, the water was almost black. As I said, we're new to...

    skimmer pre-purchase questions

I have the intex 24'x12'x52" agp and tired of the over the wall skimmer coming loose, so want to upgrade to a through-the-wall Hayward SP1091LX. My pool has the dual returns, 1.25" flex hose I believe, going to a Tee with the plunger/shutoff, and then the 1.5" from the Tee to the pump. I want...

    Newbie question on intex plumbing

Thank you. I'll be trying it today. Is having a ball valve in this location sufficient (Shared album - Wayne Lewis - Google Photos), I would think having it on the same side as the solar heater would be better. With it like the picture (not mine, found it on google), you'll always have about...

    Newbie question on intex plumbing

So, they're saying the intex hoses (1.5" hose) will screw on to a 2" PVC threaded fitting (male) and seal with the use of 2 gaskets? Just make sure I understand this correctly. I don't have the hose with me right now, so wanted to make sure this is correct before I stop by the hardware store...
