Taylor Xpress Flex testing system any experience? Accuracy?

I am a bigger fan of drop tests for water testing, but there is a lot we built into the Xpress Flex lab and the test strips. One of the biggest items you will appreciate is that the lab/program requires you enter the "lot code" of the test strips. This serves 2 main purposes: 1) You cannot use...

Updated CYA Test from Taylor Technologies - You could now test down to 5 ppm!

You do not need to get the full kit. You could just modify your current kit with the new instruction, 5096. You could buy that through TFTestKits or on our website, whichever is easier for you.

Updated CYA Test from Taylor Technologies - You could now test down to 5 ppm!

That's what I get for working late! We were challenged by a chemical supplier to modify our kits to read lower CYA levels. The changes we made allow reading down to 5 ppm of CYA. You do need to dilute to read higher levels. I am so sorry for the error!

HermanTX - you are very observant! I made a mistake - you could test down to 5 ppm using our kit. Ooops! My bad!

Testing for Chlorine in the World of a Chlorine Shortage

The damage at the BioLab trichlor plant in Louisiana will cause some tightening in the sanitizer market and increased pricing for your chlorine products. The TFP people are ahead of the curve using FAS DPD to more-accurately measure chlorine, and combined chlorine, levels. This helps you control...

    Tf-100 / Taylor test interchangeability?

You can trust the reagents you get from TFTestKits! They are great customers of Taylor and order regularly, so their reagents are fresh. You do need to make sure you use the pH indicator R-0004 for the larger volume sample size in Taylor's professional kit comparators and the R-0014 reagent for...

Testing for Chlorine in the World of a Chlorine Shortage

My friends at TFP are the best supporters of the FAS DPD test. Now, more than ever, people will want to know more precisely what their chlorine levels are. To me, FAS DPD beats color-matching, hands down. I do not do well reading pink colors. Besides making reading Free Chlorine more exact, FAS...

    Using the K-2006 CYA test

As with all testing, lighting is critical to obtain the best possible match. We advise that when testing outdoors, have the Sun hit your back or shoulders. Never face the Sun – doing that will alter your test results as the UV light will interfere. The same holds true for the CYA test. Have your...

Anyone have a Taylor midget (or slide) pH comparitor?

The process of color-matching is an interesting phenomenon. The options can often be broken down to color-matching, electronic meters, and, finally, colorimeters. As you move from left to right on that list you, generally, improve results but also incur higher costs. Color-matching: Let’s...

K-2006 Nearing Expiration, Give up and go TF100?

Chris, the K-2006 and the TF100 have different pH comparators, so the phenol red reagents are different concentrations. The R-0004 (in the K-2006) and R-0014 (in the K-1000) phenol red reagents are not interchangeable. As far as the costs for the reagent, there are a lot of online options. Just...

    Difficulty with Taylor CH test

Thank you for using Taylor test kits for your testing. The source of the problem may be the temperature of the water. High temperatures may be causing the conditions you are seeing. K-2006 from Taylor, and K-2006-6 Taylor kit sold thru Walmart web site

Taylor now sells test kits as individual units. Part number K-2006-6 was the old way of ordering 6 units of K-2006. It could be that Walmart took the number from InTheSwim that bought the 6 units from us directly or through a distributor. If you have any questions, we are here to help: 800-TEST KIT.

CYA Reading after using R-7065 50ppm sample

We appreciate your comments regarding the R-7065 CYA Standard and the results you obtained. Standard solutions are designed to read a specific value. In your case, the R-7065 is designed to read 50 ppm CYA. Because the CYA test, a turbidimetric test, is in itself a subjective test, you can get...
