    Blackish algae spots

Thank you, I do have a Leslie's. I will definitely check that out. Should I use a regular pool brush or should I get one of those attachments with the metal bristles?

    Blackish algae spots

Hello, I've been out of town with my family for the last 6 months for my 2 year old son's bone marrow transplant. My father in law has been taking care of our pool as best he can. We just returned home a few days ago and I have blackish dots of algae in my pool and I was wondering what is the...

    Taylor speed stir

Than you all for the replying

    Taylor speed stir

This may be a silly question but I'm using the taylor speed stir when testing my water. My question is since the small pill shaped stirrer displaces water when filling to the 25 ml mark it should be done before dropping the stirrer into the water correct?

    Pump Sucking Air

I have a Jandy Stealth 2 speed pump that is sucking air from the cap that covers the debris trap. Has anyone else experienced this issue with these pumps. I contacted Jandy and they recommended replacing the gasket which I already did and they said if that didn't work I would need to order a new...

    Missing cartridge filter strap

I recently had a pool built and cleaned my cartridge filters for the first time. I noticed on one of my filters 2 of the straps that hold the filters together were missing but were nowhere to be found inside the filter chamber. Could they be somewhere in my pool plumbing lines? Or would they...

Lamotte Waterlink Spin Lab Vs Taylor Drop Test

My local ACE uses the WaterLink Spin computer test. Sometimes it's close to my taylor kit results and sometimes it's way off.

    Scaling due to high Ph

Thanks for the info. My chemicals have been in balance after I noticed the scaling so for about 10 months now. You wouldn't reccomend rubbing the walls with a pumice stone? Just do what you said with the Ph and csi index

    Scaling due to high Ph

I had a pool built last year, finally have a good grasp on my chemicals and what they do etc. My question is what is the best way to get rid of light patches of scaling due to high Ph? some areas on the plaster feel like sandpaper, after the pool was built and started up the company told me to...

    Pump Run Time

Of course when you get a new pool built the builder just hands everything over and says good luck. I have seen some posts from people with two speed pumps running them on low speed only to save on electricity cost, unless they are using spa or water features. I have attached a picture of my pump...

    Borates and FC

Thank you for the info, I had read an article that with borates your pool would require less chlorine but couldn't find anything on if that meant lower FC levels or what.

    Borates and FC

So I recently added borates to my pool 50 ppm. My question is am I able to keep a lower FC level with borates added or should I stick to the target of 5 PPM with a SWG and CYA at 70 PPM?

Leave Robot Cleaner in Pool or Not?

I had pool built last year, it was completed 3-20-2019 and a Polaris 7240 sport was included. I kept it in the water most of the time and it just died on me yesterday. Not sure if that is just a crappy model or if the salt water got to it or what and of course its one month out of warranty...
