2 speed pump question

C,

It is pretty normal for VS pumps running at a low RPM, or 2-speed pumps running on Low to have a few bubbles under the pump lid.. The key is do the bubbles get bigger and bigger over time. If not, then there is just no problem. If the bubbles get larger and larger, then you could have a suction side air leak..

Small air leaks are sometimes pretty hard to locate, so the first thing I would do is to make sure the pump runs on high speed for at least an hour a day... If that does not help, then you will need to look for an air leak.. Could be as simple as no lube on the pump basket lid, or old O-Rings in a Jandy valve, or.. ??????

Thanks,

Jim R.
