    Chlorinator issue

Ok, held at 10, so don’t think it’s ammonia. Im going to clean filters out and test again this week. I just opened two weeks ago and I like to take it slow and steady on balancing. Got my ph in ck along with the CH and TA. Next is dedicating some time to my stabilizer.

    Chlorinator issue

i know, not a popular choice in here, but I don’t mind using it at the beginning of the season or out on vacation. Anyway, I have an inline chlorinator and on max right now but it does not seem to be putting any CL in. It’s a Jandy and uses Tri-Chlor pucks. The pucks are dissolving but no...

Best cleaning steps when opening the pool

Not too clean with a mesh cover. Leaves get under there and stuff for me. Water is not too bad but have to keep chlorine up since degrading leaves eat it up.

    Winter chemical balance

I have a mesh cover and need to drain water every now and then. Once a month I put 3/4 of a gallon of liquid chlorine, aka bleach, and mix with a submersible pump for a few hours. I’m in Maryland. I don’t put any other chemicals in though.

    Tarp over mesh

Hello all, I was talking to a neighbor who also had a mesh cover and said she had no leaves and opened with little cleaning at opening of her pool. When I asked how, she said she had a tarp with bag weights over her mesh cover. Anyone else have luck with this?

    Dolphin Nautilus leaving black marks

I have the same problem, I just use one of those pumice or pumice like scrubbers and it comes off. But your right it’s not easy.

Air bubbles coming out of one return

You can also check for small particles on that seal under your pump. Put a little food grade or similar silicone grease on it and see if that does anything.

    Pollen?

I have some new stains on my skimmer baskets. It does come off relatively easy but wondering if it’s pollen or something else? Pollen is really bad this year in Md, ok well every year in md. Any thoughts? All numbers are good to go.

    FC loss after Calcium add

I had no idea others could see that. Just added my results after just testing. The calcium is not 100% pure but is the hardness increase from the pool store. Could not find straight calcium locally before I opened.

    FC loss after Calcium add

So I read quite a few threads that have had similar issues with loss of FC to 0 after adding Calcium to raise the hardness. Is it possible. I had FC of 6 this morning and now at 3:30 a fc of 0 and low ph, 7.2. My cya is almost 0 though but could I lose that much fc in a day? Seems odd

    Not quite open

So I had to get some repairs done to my coping before opening and although it will be fully opened in a couple days I have noticed the slight green tint getting greener. My ph was high, 8.0 or higher, and no FC. Getting my CL tomorrow but since I had some Muriatic acid and have worked in...
