    Jandy ipump01 and JEP-R controller

Is it possible to use both the ipumpt01 and the JEP-R on the same VS pump? I really like the idea of the ipump01 for better customization. However, I do not like that you loose the ability to make manual manipulations without having a smart phone around.

    Run schedules

Is there a strategy or preferred scheme of running your pump? I'm installing an Jandy iqpump01 today and will have the ability to fully customized run schedules. Until know, I've typically ran the pump late evening and into the night on low RPMs. Would there be advantages in running for...

To robot or not to robot?

....that is the question. I'm a third year pool owner. Our installer included a Polaris TR28P pressure side cleaner with Polaris PB4-6 booster pump. It does a decent at picking up debris, but lately it seems to want to get stuck at the base of a wall or fly around in the middle of the water...

    It is "Trouble Free"

Growing up, I watched my dad fight season after season with our swimming pool. Start ups were the worst... always removed the cover to find a swamp. So I was a little apprehensive after having our pool installed. I'm glad I found you guys! This is my second year opening up our pool. After...

    Recommended FC levels after opening

I have a 24k SWG pool and am planning on opening this weekend. This is only my second opening. Do you recommend using liquid chlorine to get the FC up or let the SWG run at 100% until the level is reached? Speaking of recommended FC levels, would you adjust to get the recommended FC level or...

    When to stop SLAMing

Second year pool owner. Last year was a breeze with no problems what so ever. Last week was VBS at my church so didn't have the chance to go out to take a look at my pool's condition. Saturday morning, I go out to find that the pool was covered with mustard algae. I immediately brush it...

    Strategy for running VS pump

What is your strategy or schedule for running your VS pump? Do you run 24/7 at a lower rpm? How many turns do you shoot for in a 24 hr period? Do you run consecutively or on and off throughout the day? Our pool go finished up a couple weeks ago and I've just been running the pump...

First time pool owner here, but have been following the TFP forums for a year or so. Our new pool was filled with tap water two weeks ago. I tested the tap water before any chemicals were added and TA=200 & pH=7.5. After two weeks, my numbers look like this. Should I work to lower it or let...

    Jandy TruClear question

My dad is an electrician and is in the process of installing my equipment. My PB is no help at all. The question he has is this: does the the SWG have the built in ability to know when the pool pump is running ( ex. internal flow meter) or does it have to be wired in such a way as to not run...

    Concrete Finishing costs

My pool installer subs out his concrete work. His guy charges $4.50/SF labor and material for a basic finish (no stamping, color, etc). I have around 1,700 SF total that I need poured. Concrete around my area runs about $105/cubic yd... which backs into about $1.03/SF for my job with the...

    Loop-Loc Aqua Extreme mesh

Does anyone have any direct experience with the aqua extreme mesh cover? I like the fact that the mesh is very dense and almost solid like, but is porous enough to allow water to drain in. I am just curious if the 2X cost is worth it considering it only has a 15-year warranty wheras as most...

    SWG sizing

Variable speed pump worth the added cost$

My installer says that a variable speed pump will cost $800 more than the single speed. I dont know which specific models he is quoting. But I do know he uses Jandy only. Question is this, is there a decent ROI on the variable speed pump? My pool will be 18 x 36. I have seen a range of...
