Is there a strategy or preferred scheme of running your pump? I'm installing an Jandy iqpump01 today and will have the ability to fully customized run schedules. Until know, I've typically ran the pump late evening and into the night on low RPMs.

Would there be advantages in running for short high speed bursts coupled with longer/slower runtimes? I've noticed that faster RPMs help clean up the surface better..

Every pool is different based on size, shape, wind speed, amount of debris, etc. Generally speaking, low speed/rpm is sufficient for daily skimming, then a high rpm for a short period when adding chemicals, accessories, or just to purge air out of the system. But nothing is in stone. Experiment as you wish and monitor to save time and energy. The link below may help.
