Maytronics S200 ends up on it's back

I am on my 2nd S200 robot. The newest one ends up on it's back almost every day. The first one I had for several years did not seem to exhibit this phenomenon - rarely would I find it inverted. Any ideas what might be causing this. They are nearly identical, except for the build dates. Thanks.

Can a pressure cleaner port be (easily) replumbed for suction?

Just curious if anyone as done that. I am probably done with pressure side cleaners and probably migrating away from robots. Might try suction-side but I think things work better with a dedicated line and I have the pressure side polaris-style port in the pool already. ?

Air in Hayward TriStar VS pump basket at low speed

I am curious whether air in the pump strainer basket that is half full of air is normal when the pump is running at low speed (say 1200 rpm)? Doesn't seem to happen when the same pump is at a relatively high speed (say 2800+). Is this definitely a suction-side leak in some form? I have...

    OmniPL reported salt ppm

I have a recent Hayward OmniPL install with a new T-15 cell. It reports salt 500-600ppm below tested levels (strips, meter & Taylor tests). Any way to adjust the Omni's calibration? Thanks

    choking Maytronics

Anyone come up with a better solution than the Maytronics/Dolphin "non return flap"? It is the little fabric doohickey that bungees to the bottom of the basket that keeps debris from flowing back out of the basket when the cleaner is not under power. I find any teeny weeny leaf load will...

    Maytronics Dolphin Drive Motor Problem

Moved from here. This is the 52ZY24-50 impeller motor in mine that I suspect this the reason why my S200 is not working. Goes forward, backward, then stops. The impeller motor looks fine in general, it will turn but the bearings are "stiff" as best I can describe them - not seized but by no...

    AmerLight, AquaLight options

I just finished a panel update to an OmniPL on my ancient pool. I have installed two original AmerLight incandescent fixtures in the pool and one AquaLight halogen fixture in the spa. They both work and I do not run lights very often tbh. Reading some of the old troubles folks have had trying...

    Drive Wheel Bearings Maytronics/Dolphin S200?

Over time the front drive wheel and bearing has developed a lot of slop and needs replacement. Marina seems to be out of wheel kits at present that include this little plastic part that does not seem to have a number. The bearings press-fit on the front wheel shafts. My S200 won't crawl...

    OmniPL and EcoStar (circa 2020)

My PB just installed an OmniPL and all is working fine except the Feature Pump isn't being recognized. Prior to digging into his comm wiring, the unrecognized pump is a Hayward SP3500VSP EcoStar VSP I installed in 2020, sn 50334xxx that I recorded when I installed it last year. No idea how...

If anyone knows where an OmniPL can be obtained, hopefully at normal pricing, please send me a PM. I have a Hayward controller than needs to be replaced. Thanks

20 year old Hayward Automation system has finally died

It looks like my 20yo Hayward 2100 Pool Control System main board has given up - can't turn on my equipment, it seems to be in a loop and unresponsive and can't be reset. So I am looking for a new automation system of some kind. I need to move relatively quickly as my pump is down at present...

Fixing freeze damage - Triton T100C Sand Filter

The joys of Texas' "great storm", I have been working through the damage to the equipment. My last repair item looks like a minor crack or two at the top of my sand Triton T100C sand filter where the large cap screws on. I get a little seepage/drip when its pressureized. The filter is circa...

    18-month old S200 appears dead

My 18-month old S200 is dead today. Power supply lights but nothing happening on the cleaner end. Logged a note to tech support on the Maytronics site, and scratching my head on next steps now. Any suggestions what I might try to debug diy?

    S200 swivel cord, not really

My S200 has a swivel on the cord that does not appear to be doing its job very well. I get nicely knotted after a while. They claim "tangle-free", on mine it is anything but. When I manually twist the swivel is seems to have significant resistance to turning. Pushing it in a bit sort of...

What to do with Booster pump circuit

Like many I have adopted robots for routine cleaning. But I have a nearly new Zodiac PB4-60 booster pump circuit with a nearly new pump on the pad. Has anyone repurposed their booster pump for anything interesting or new water features? Can it be redeployed for anything? I already have a...

    Replacing/upgrading automation

TBH, I find keeping up with all the options for pool automation difficult and being completely cognizant of last minute exceptions (gotchas) hard to do. I would like to upgrade my Hayward 2100 automation system this summer. Those not familiar with this old gen 1 system, it was complicated for...

    Aquarite experts: fw levels

My original Aquarite SWG control box/boards have been in service since 2002. The board's fw is r1.1 and other than replacing a thermistor, they work fine. I have replaced the T-15 cells with Hayward units a number of times over the years and the unit is always happy with that and works fine...

Maytronics robot behavior when AC is connected

What do the Maytronics cleaners do when the AC is powered on? Do they automatically just run a cleaning cycle? My old Hayward TigerShark with no controller smarts runs a cycle when plugged in and on. I currently use that with a wall timer. I am thinking of finding another home for this...

    easiest robot to DIY repair

I'm curious if anyone has any strong feelings one way or the other, but what's the easiest robot to do repair/maintenance on? I realize it's mostly parts swap maintenance I am talking about, including parts price/availability. Thanks for any opinions.

The gods of Hayward bite me again..

I found a 8 little ball bearings rolling around in the body of my Hayward Tigershark QC (1 year old) today. Not inside the filter but behind it in the filter cavity. It seems to run ok but I fear the wheel bearings might in-fact have ball bearings in them, although it is not possible to tell...

    Hayward H400IDL banging

I have a H400IDL (no reference in the manual to HDL1 or IDL2), pool built in 11/2002. The banging tells me I need a new bypass valve kit and while I am in there replacing the flow control thermostat seems wise. There appear to be two kits HAXBPK1931 and HAXBPK1932. I am not sure if they are...

Waterfall pump vs VS? or other unfiltered feature solution

    - When my pool was built long before helpful info was available like tfp, he installed two Hayward NorthStar SS 2hp pumps, one for the pool/spa and one unfiltered pump for the waterfall/slide. - I suppose there was some redundancy possible in case one pump went down at a bad time, the other...

    Secondary Aquarite T-15

Hi, Long lead-up to a short question: I have a fairly large pool (40K) and I have been considering putting in a second Aquarite T-15, in addition to the one I already have to give me a) some "excess capacity" for chlorination so I can use a VS pump to cut down or run time and b) provide...

    Best pump, warranty, mfg

I am going to replace my old pump with a fancy VS pump in the next week(s). I have gotten 18 years from the old single speed pump and am looking forward to some savings going to probably a 2.7hp Variable Speed. I have a large pool and during the summer I need to run my Aquarite T-cell-15...

    Screaming Hayward Northstar Pump

My 2.0hp Hayward Northstar pool pump is making that screaming noise. Since it is 17 years old and single speed, it is probably time for a pump replacement with a 2 speed or VS pump. I am looking for recommendations on a solid replacement. My run time during the summer is nearly all day due to...

    Aquarite Hayward T-15 new failure

Today I noticed my Aquarite was not generating but displayed the LCD salt level but no colored LED lights. Switching it off then back on showed very dim LEDs and then they dim out in a few seconds. Any idea if this is a symptom of the dreaded current limiter failure or some other problem I...

Hayward Tigershark QC appears dead after 3.5 months

    DFW pool tech/service recommendations

I don't think this violates any forum rules, but I'd like any public or private recommendations for pool maintenance companies in my area, preferably the mid-cities or nearby. There was a time when I would personally tackle most any pool-related maintenance work (install a pumps, replace a...
