    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

Thank you, Chris. I just reread the “abc’s of pool chemistry” and I understand now ( I think). I only get morning sun on a portion of my pool so this could also be a factor, along with the daily debris. My skimmer isn’t that great but I’ve ordered a solar cover to use to help cut down...

    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

@CarolineM That’s a great idea! I just ordered the solar cover, I’ll soon find out how well they work.?

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

Lol..It’s mostly my tree , my pool is under it. It shades most of my backyard, which I love, but it does make a huge mess. I’m getting a little obsessive about getting the leaves and twigs out that drop all day. I’ll probably use the cover that came with the pool for the big drop of leaves and...

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

Thanks for your reply! I guess there is no perfect solution except tree removal which won't happen unless a hurricane takes it down.

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

Lol,my kids are adults now so it's my job to deal with the leaves. I bought a leaf rake but I'm trying to decide between a leaf net and a solar cover. Is it easy to remove the solar cover without dumping the debris into the pool? I have a 16' AGP and thought I could cut the cover in half or...

    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

Thank you, Chris. Will this be a continual battle with the tree droppings? This is light compared to what will happen in a storm, fall, and spring. Or is it because I was keeping my chlorine too low to begin with? I clean the leaves out several times a day and will start vacuuming daily until I...

    Rectangle mesh pool cover

Are you talking about the leaf net covers made for pools or something else? I tried to figure out how to make one but I didn’t get far. I looked at fishing cast nets and seine nets but realized I wouldn’t save money and I’d have to do some rigging. I want something to catch the catkins, too.

    Rectangle mesh pool cover

I’m in the same boat with my pool under a massive oak. We haven’t had a bad storm since we put it up, but I know what happens in a tropical storm. Fall leaves and the pollen drop will also be a nightmare. I’ve been trying to decide between the leaf net or solar cover since the solar cover would...

    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

My TA was 80, I didn’t check it yesterday before adding the chlorine and acid. The water doing the cc test is slightly pink. So, even though I’m at 8, I’m just barely there with the 1 reading? I added a cup of chlorine this morning and usually add 1-2 daily except for yesterday when I was...

@IceShadow Thank you... I’ll use pool math to raise my chlorine e and then later I’ll do the same for the acid. Appreciate your advice!???

    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

I didn’t know what you meant by dry acid, but have since read about it. I already purchased the 2 pack of muriatic acid from Home Depot. We should get some rain this week so I’m holding out for that unless it’s critical I bring my PH down now.

    Got my TF-100 Kit today!

No shock. Only chlorine. I followed directions carefully but I’ll repeat again this evening to make sure. I have been using test sticks and thought my ph was too high after adding borax. I was waiting for my test kit to have more accurate reading. I’m a little leery of muriatic acid.

My water is clear. I don’t keep it covered. I think I may have confused myself ... my apologies. I think my FC is 4.5. I added that number to my Cl number. I’m going to redo it a little later.

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

My pool sits directly under this oak. I’ve been looking at solar covers to hopefully kill two birds with one stone. Pool temp now is 84 degrees and I wouldn’t mind it being warmer. My concern would be the leaves falling back into the pool when I remove the solar cover. I’ve read that people cut...

Really quick delivery! My test results- Cl 5 Ph 7.8-8.2 (hard for me to determine which color is closer) CC 4.5 TC 9.5 TA 100 (not sure on this since I was looking for red but it was pink and just kept getting darker pink) CYA 40 I think these numbers are good? Much appreciation to this forum!

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

I don't have a thermometer for my pool so I don't know what temperature it is. The air temp is 87 but with the humidity, it feels like 94. Lows at night are 77 but we have been getting daily rain. I would guess the pool temp is around 80. It feels great after I start swimming!:) My oak...

LOL... My pool feels cool to me now because it's in the shade and because the air is so hot and humid. I jog in circles to get used to it.

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

Thanks for the suggestion. The pool did come with built in skimmer that works quite well for the daily dropping of leaves. I used the vacuum that attaches to a hose and I was surprised at how well that works, too. Maybe just using the skimmer, vacuum, and cleaning net will be enough. I did...

Leaf net or mesh net for very large Oak

My AGP has been up a few days and so far looks good, thanks to this forum. I knew from the start that my very large, mature, Oak tree will constantly drop leaves, sticks, and pollen. Right now, the leaves aren't too much trouble, but, looking forward I know they will be and I want to be...

Retaining wall blocks for support under AGP pool

@bloodfromastone Yea, I wondered about the surface area not being big enough. There won't be kids splashing about, just 2-3 adults. It's too late now for the foundation prep but if I ever do this again, I will do it differently. I think I bit off more than I could chew trying to do most of it...

Retaining wall blocks for support under AGP pool

Thanks for your advice. I tend to be an optimist but that probably isn't good in this situation. My hubby says he can put in the pavers, so we will as soon as he has time.

    CYA sock method question

My CYA is not detectable. I have a sock hanging with 3 c. of cya. PoolMath said to add 28 oz. My FC is 2/4. I added 2 cups of 10% chlorine (before I did the PoolMath). PoolMath said to add 11 oz. My question is, if I need to add 28 oz of cya, and it's in a sock dissolving very slowly, do I need...
