    Waterfalls Rock Trap

mine are back port and if you see behind the wall you can see the piping.. If for some reason one of the waterfalls get a rock or something then I would just pull the pipe and clean it.. I have a dedicated pump for it so I doubt anything big will get stuck.

    Waterfalls Rock Trap

I did not installed them, heck I didnt even glue the waterfalls to a pipe since the fit was tight and it did not create a leak when they were on.

Gunite mistake on shelf/ledge depth - what are my remedies?

chipping down the shelf would be awful and a full fix could doing rebar, gunite, plaster, etc could mess with the structure of the pool. There is no easy fix IMO, maybe removing the coping and raising the bond beam? That would require raising a deck, new waterline tile and coping..

Just found a crack in our newish pool...

Do you have any pictures of the rebar stage?

    Our First Pool

Great plaster color! For my pool I could not find anyone around me that would do a colored plaster, only Marquis Miami Blue.... They all said it would end up discoloring within 2-3 years, it would look mottled right after installation and some would even say that I would require new plaster...

    Travertine vs concrete pavers

Filling holes in travertine is not required really and if you get a quality stone (avoid online suppliers) then holes should be minimal.

Plumber used flexible PVC - anything I can do now?

I believe flexible PVC has a maximum psi rating of 60 psi vs regular schedule 40 2" pvc pipes that is 280 psi. I dont think you will ever see 60 PSI but regular sch40 is better for sure in terms of strength. Did the pool builder did a pressure test on the piping? As long as they did that and had...

Rain interrupted gunite shoot - is this a concern?

i believe those are shrinking cracks, nothing to worry about.. You should wet your shell twice a day at least but ask your PB for guidance

    Pool deck resurfacing

I have seen some awesome resurfacing jobs and they have used a product called "cement all" by rapid set. That is a 9000 psi after 28 days and it dries in 15 minutes... The color works really well too. If you are handy and know how to work with cement type products i suggest you try that... and...

Question about bonding agents and plaster

So the rumor going on the street is that when you joint two cement products together you need some kind of bonding agent.. I have used them and what I have noticed is that they turn the surface a bit rough. Since plaster is a cement product, why pool builders dont use a bonding agent before...

2 leaks - how to fix?

I would redo that entire plumbing from the pump to the filter... They reduced from 2" to 1.5" and later from 1.5" to 2"?

    Our First Pool

nice setup and quality! I have a question and pardon my ignorance, why did you put the 3 way valve like that after the secondary pump? Technically you could block the flow of the pump while it being on? unless you put some kind of lock in place to prevent blocking the pump outlet side.

Pool build & baja shelf depth questions

Shotcrete is usually 6" at those levels and rebar is at the middle, so lets say 3" concrete + 1" plaster = 4" that will be raised from that rebar. So you have 14" there with the ruler, we substract our 4" to that we get 10" but that is only if the water reaches the bottom of the coping but since...
