    Damaged Sand Filter Laterals

You are correct about the discolouration of the plastic and they weren't like that from new but I can remove the discolouration with my fingernail The failure is at the exact same spot on all of them, some have shown signs of being bent at the failure point but haven't failed yet All the...

    Damaged Sand Filter Laterals

Most of the info is in my signature but the pump model is 81004 which is a 0.37kw which equates to about 0.5 hp The MPV is piped correctly and hasn't been run for long periods on backwash and if it went to waste it would by pass the filter When I run on recirculate or bypass there was no media...

    Damaged Sand Filter Laterals

Hi After replacing my laterals because of filter media coming back into the pool. I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to how they got damaged The only solution I can come up with is that when backwashing the area below the lateral becomes a void and then allows the weight to push down

    Lowering pH

Although it isn’t recommended here because some one got burnt I use the 3M 4277 as the fumes are pretty noxious, they are reusable

    Pump loses pressure over time

I would suspect that you have a suction side air leak with the vacuum hose connected Does the pump basket have air in it when vacuuming Also is the flow normal without the vacuum connected

Hi Steve You're on the right track then I use muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) to lower pH and aeration to raise it I bought my last lot on Ebay sometimes called brick cleaning acid. You want the 36% or there abouts Use gloves and protection as it's pretty noxious

    Help pleaseeee :D

You really need to run your pump to keep the water flowing while the temperature is low or winterise You may have some ice in the pipes but not solid yet and if you don’t run the pump they could freeze solid and crack your pipes
  26. D

    Help pleaseeee :D

No don't release the prime just run your pump when you're close to freezing. Here in the UK we very seldom have to winterise unless you are far north It's normally the nights are when we get the lower temperature, even the -1 and -2 don't present a problem
