    solar reel straps

I have never seen the straps that slide into the grooves. Do they hold pretty well? Mine screw into the tube.

    Hello world!

Welcome! Lots of us use the TF100. Excellent kit. Grab the Speedstir also if it's doable for you. At first it all seems kinda overwhelming (it did for me at least) but you will be a pro in no time. Can you post your pool specs and equipment in your signature line? It helps the pros around...

Newbie SLAMM (Sick of losing all my money)

With MA I measure it out into a plastic measure cup and pour slowly in front of your pool return. Use pool math to figure how much. My Ph is pretty stable but when I do have to tweak it I add less than what pool math says. It always easier to add more than to overshoot.

    Echo weed eater keeps stalling

I bought an EGO 56v trimmer with Rapid Reload last year. Absolutely love it. When the blower went on sale I grabbed that too. Batteries charge in about 50 minutes.

Need to Buy Stabilizer - Reccomendations Please

Yup. When I took a first look at my TF100--Yikes! Take a breath, read the instructions and you will quickly see how easy it is. This kit is the best investment you can make concerning your pool. Grab the Speedstir too if you are able to. Makes testing fun, easy and fast.

Manufacturer recommended chemical balance vs TFP question

The pool store does not take into consideration the FC/CYA relationship. Which is why my water was a mess! The TFP levels for CYA is 70-80 for SWG pool. 30-50 for a regular chlorine pool. Sorry about your TA question, I rarely have to fiddle with that. My Ph is pretty stable.

Pool newbie here having trouble with balancing

Like Richard320 said, just drop your Ph a bit and jump in. Use bleach to sanitize.

What are YOUR test results? I wouldn't use either one of 'em . Can you return them?

    Dog in Pool

Great post and reminder otter86753. Being a dog lover myself, their safety is priority. Mine like to stay safe on the deck or laying in the AC and watching me out of the slider window!

    Hello from California

Welcome, Brian! I lurked and read and read and read some more before I joined. Bought myself a great test kit (TF100) and Speedstir and left the pool store in my rearview mirror! Got things turned around from the bad pool store recommendations and the water has never been better.

Need to Buy Stabilizer - Reccomendations Please

Ditto wjr75 post. Maybe not the cheapest but certainly the most convenient for me. I usually buy one 4 pound jug a year from Amazon.

    Using bleach

Re: Using bleach Use PoolMath to help you out. My pool is 17500 and a half gal. of 10% brings it up almost 3ppm. Congrats on your TF100 purchase! You're gonna love it. It will keep you out of the pool store AND save you a bunch of $'s.

PLEASE help! FC and CC problem

Yup. Keep it at SLAM level. As soon as it drops below that level bring it back up.

    Swamp to Oasis Photo Journal

I wonder how much time and money would have been spent at a pool store to try and clear that hot mess!

    28' round solar cover reel

I've seen them listed in many pool catalogs. How were you planning to mount the reel? On the concrete or is the top rail of the pool still exposed?

    Dog in Pool

I envy you Texas Splash! Neither of my dogs will be my swim buddies. My Bullmastiff mix hit the drink twice when he lost his footing catching bees. It was not easy hefting him up and out of the deep end. When my Rottie was a pup he thought the solar cover was stable ground and decided to hop...

    Who Got A March Snowfall?

Yup, snow. Or should I say "yuck" snow? In Michigan with a 24' ice cube. I did order my TF100 refill kit yesterday though.

Switch from DE to Cartridge ... talk me off ... or push me over the ledge

Hey Dirk! I use it because it "polishes" up my water. Also, I have a treeline/woods/swamp/wetlands about 15 ft. west of the pool. I get all kinds of pollen, dirt and general yuks from that. Just north of me in the next yard over is 8 big 'ol cottonwoods. What fun spring is for me! But...

Switch from DE to Cartridge ... talk me off ... or push me over the ledge

Hi Dirk! And welcome to the best pool site EVER! Referring to the Purifiber instructions it says to add up to 4 oz. (2 cups) per 25 sq. ft. of cart filtering area. Only add to CLEAN carts. I measure mine out into a bucket of water, mix it up and pour it into the skimmer. I have never had a...

Switch from DE to Cartridge ... talk me off ... or push me over the ledge

I started with a DE filter (came with the house) and switched to a cart filter. Love it. After all the cottons and spring tree junk is done I haul it out and give it a good hosing. I pop it back in and make a slurry with Purifiber to coat the filter. Works great for me but I have a pretty...

    Include AGP in Homeowner's insurance?

My AGP is in a fenced backyard with padlocked gates. This was the first question the insurance co. asked of the pool. My insurance agent said the pool would be insured under property damages if a storm wiped it out. Good to know since I have a wetlands tree line about 15 feet just west of the...

    Pool Blaster Max

I have the PB Max also. It's the only vac I use. I have a tree line about 10-15 feet west of my pool so I get a ton on tree dirt and all the "extras" that come with it.

Will TFP method work with tabs?

Most of us have theTF100. It's a great kit and easy to learn. I can pretty much guaranty that you will not regret your purchase. The cost of it will be less than one trip to the pool store when you start having problems doing it their way. Grab the Speedstir too if that is doable for you...

Have $3000 to spend on AGP. What do y'all recommend?

Still enjoying the Doughboy pool that came with my house. It was installed in 1985. I replaced the liner and purchased a different pump/filter. Have fun spending your $$$$!
