My name is Brian and I thought I should introduce myself here. I have an inground pool that I built some 30 years ago and has worked flawlessly until about 5 years ago.

Welcome, Brian! I lurked and read and read and read some more before I joined. Bought myself a great test kit (TF100) and Speedstir and left the pool store in my rearview mirror! Got things turned around from the bad pool store recommendations and the water has never been better.
