Raypak Heater blew it's thermal fuse

A few comments about swapping the fuse. It's not that easy, the solder they use to attach it, seems to have a higher melt point than my lead solder, which is like 600 degrees. It looked like a copper solder. I too had to cut off the old leads with clippers. then I scuffed up the tabs with...

Raypak Heater blew it's thermal fuse

Hi, so I stand corrected. I replaced the fuse and fires the unit back up, it started, so I pulled the cover off and sure enough a flame was still rolling out and firing over the fuse. I guess my unit is still clogged up. I don't quite understand still how to fix it further, so any specific...

Raypak Heater blew it's thermal fuse

how do I access the area between the heat exchanger and the flame? yeah, that might be clogged up too. I got 152 degree fuses, I believe that is either exact, but I don't think a few degrees, like +/- 5, will really be too drastic. It's just kills the unit if that general area starts to get...

Raypak Heater blew it's thermal fuse

I unscrewed 6 screws holding on the lid, took it off and saw a lot of leaves on the exhaust vent... cleaned up. I suspect this was the issue. The thermal fuse detects heat in the bottom chamber of the unit, if temp gets too high in there it blows the switch because it knows something is wrong. I...

Raypak Heater blew it's thermal fuse

Hi there, so I have a 10 pack of new fuses ordered and will solder on a new one. Was $6 for the 10 pack. However, I need to figure out why the fuse tripped and I supposedly have flame rollout. I assume my vent is clogged, so my question is how do I clean the exhaust? do I unscrew around the top...

plumbing install for my Stenner pump

the more I read it says that sch 40 PVC is just too soft and thin to be tapped threaded. I'm kind of concerned. I'd like to put on the 2" x 2" tee I bought, not sure if the pipes will flex enough to let me get it in. I cleaned up my equipment area!!!

Is this just poorly designed by Stenner?

I mean it was somewhat rhetorical. it's a crappy design for outdoor usage, but I don't have any other choice. I guess I'll just check in some mosquito killer and not be concerned about the standing water. it's a bad design.

Is this just poorly designed by Stenner?

After spending time cleani g up my pool equipment area, laying out new rocks and getting a nice place set for my new Stenner pump, I was going to bring it outside, and then realized. man is this a bad design or what, for outdoor use. I think water will fill up and sit inside this little area...

plumbing install for my Stenner pump

ah, ok, point taken. the only one who might knock into it would be me. I'll drill a 1/4". I think my Stenner also has the backflow preventer. I guess I'll see come fall. I'll have a plug in case I need it. last think. should I use some pipe tape on the threads of the injector? I'm definitely...

plumbing install for my Stenner pump

hey, that's exactly why I asked and what I was thinking. I'm leaning toward using the 1/2". I just feel like it's more solid and might not get knocked off as easily. I'm also wondering how do I seal this off when I am blowing out the lines. I bought a 1/2" pvc plug, can buy a ball valve too...
