TP, have you tried looking for leaks in your new hose? Is it in sections or one piece? Do you fill it with water before connecting it to the pump in order to reduce the volume of air? Sorry, no offense intended, just curious why a new hose would be leaking.

check the distance from the end of the pool blaster insert to the pin holes. you may have to loosen the pole and pull the pole handle back a little if the pool blaster insert is a little long. One of my tools is like that. i'm assuming you have an extension pole.

Savage, did you lube the gasket? Does the spring tension feel weak when you depress the handle? Check the pin holding the handle to the valve--is it sticking out a little to either side? if so, give it a tap with a center punch or similar to re-center it.
