First time I’m cleaning this cell. 2 seasons. Is this considered a lot of calcium or not that bad?
Also, I’m still dealing with “no flow” once in a while and wondering if this will finally clear it IMG_9949.png

You don’t want any build up so its not great but
Before resorting to diluted acid/vinegar try using a popsicle stick/ zip tie (some thing that’s not metal) to gently remove the buildup without scratching the plates. You can also try a strong spray with the hose.

You want to manage your water chemistry & csi so that you don’t get build up in the first place.

Gotta have all the ones i listed to calculate csi - including borates if you use those. I accidentally left that one out.
Turn on csi tracking in the poolmath settings to tinker with it.
You want it slightly negative to prevent scaling.

Its a good idea to give the cell a look every few months and inspect it for build up. The sooner you catch it the easier it will be to remove with less aggressive methods.
If you’re keeping csi in check and still experiencing calcium buildup you may want to consider adding borates to the pool (recommend using boric acid to accomplish this).
